Dr. Alvin Shieh, MD

I have never had a worse experience with a medical professional in my life. He has no communication skills or bedside manner. When you are in his 'care' it is nearly impossible to communicate with him or his office. His nurse practitioner is your only contact, who was even worse than Alvin Shieh. During a post opp appointment his nurse practitioner bursted into a confidential conversation regarding the poor care and communication I had received. I asked many questions about my injury and got little to no feedback. I have massive scars from my surgery in which we asked who the plastic surgeon would be, Alvin Sheigh got visibly upset and said you can get a plastic surgeon, but I do a better job. (He does not) The entire experience was horrific and there are not enough words to express how bad this guy is. Do your due diligence if you can, I learned the hard way.

Dr Shieh operated on my 95 year old mother two times a couple of months apart after falls she sustained in her apartment. She has extremely brittle bones and he and his orthopedic trauma team at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center repaired her broken leg both times. Our local hospital sent her there each time because they were unable to do the procedure. He called and explained everything and answered questions. In the follow up visit at his office he removed her stitches and was very caring. He was very nice but I hope she never has to go through it again!

If I could give him 0 stars I would. He literally does nothing, doesn’t speak, doesn’t diagnose, doesn’t treat. He’ll just stare at you throughout the appointment and leave once you’re done stating your problem. His medical license should be revoked He gets money for these appointments but doesn’t does no work to earn that money.
