Dr. Alpana Dhar, MD

She’s great—extremely intelligent, very personable, very helpful in discussing the patients issue.

If you are looking for an old school doctor who is caring, takes time with her patients, promptly returns phone calls (sometimes even personally, rather than through staff), is thorough and knowledgeable, there is no better choice than Dr. Dhar. I cannot say enough good things about her. After a number of years of mis-diagnosed symptoms by PCP's, and Orthopedic specialists, I saw Dr. Dhar, who correctly diagnosed my Psoriatic Arthritis that everyone else completely missed.

I would highly recommend Dr. Dhar. My mom has RA and I went in with soft tissue and joint pain over most of my body. Dr. Dhar did NOT assume it was RA because my mom has it, but did the most thorough explanation on the planet, to avoid misdiagnosing me. She was correct when she said I didn't have RA or any other autoimmune condition (also after running a blood test). I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism by another doctor shortly thereafter, and thyroid meds eliminated my pain. Kudos to Dr. Dhar.

Dr. Dhar assumed I was challenging her every time I asked a question and recommended very early on that I go to another doctor. I honestly didn't understand how she arrived at her conclusions (it appeared she only looked at the lab results and not the symptoms). I had several problems with Catalina Point, so I filed a grievance. The next time I went to the office I was dismissed as a patient for filing the grievance. I was always on time, paid my bills and was a compliant patient.
