Dr. Allan Jacobs, MD

My children have seen Dr Jacobs for 15 years and have received nothing but the best care. If it wasn’t for him I don’t know where they’d be. Dr Jacobs went above and beyond answering emergency phone calls after hours numerous times when my children were in distress. He helped me through multiple difficulties that I could not have overcome alone. To this say my children who are now grown and doing well thanks to Dr Jacobs have find memories of him. And I have him to thank for that.

I’ve seen Dr. Jacobs on and off for over 12 years. While other reviewers have stated that he is the sole cause of their distress or child’s distress this is unrealistic to expect of a psychiatrist. Dr. Jacobs has always been responsive to my needs is flexible with scheduling and listens intently to my concerns. He has gone above and beyond for me.

Stay away from this guy he's a nightmare!! He's very nice at first but then his ego takes over. He doesn't get back to you and never answers his so called emergency line and rarely returns those calls either. Charges $250 for 45 minutes and rushes you out of there. He's all about meds and prescribes Gabapentin irresponsibly. If you want to be on a lifetime of horrific meds that will eventually destroy your life and without any emotional support, than this guy is fir you!!

Allen Jacobs is a fraud and incompetent medical practitioner. He prescribed me with every medicine under the sun for about 5 years, all because he was unable to correctly diagnose my illness. He's uncompassionate and only care about his bottom line$. He's a terrible doctor. 0 stars.

Dr Jacobs should not be practicing medicine. My son was a patient of his and is now dead by suicide. My son made many many attempts to reach Dr. Jacobs and left desperate voice mail messages asking for help and to please call him back. Dr. Jacobs did not return phone calls-period. He would not adjust meds or have any contact with us after initial appointments to prescribe meds. Our son hid from us exactly how much pain he was suffering from and is now dead at the age of 20.

Interesting how the people that commented here had the exact same experience I had. Dr Jacobs is engaging initially and comes across as caring, compassionate, but if his protocols aren't working as he expected for his patients, it gets almost impossible to contact him. He has never returned my phone calls and takes weeks to answer e-mails even though he prefers that method of contact. All he does is push pills and is no help emotionally. Has an emergency line but doesn't answer! Unreal!

Dr. Jacobs was swift in setting up the first few appointments. However, when my son was having adverse side effects from the medications and his behaviors became worse, he refused to return our multiple desperate phone calls and emails. His conduct was absolutely unprofessional and it was very clear he does not have his patients' best interest at heart.

Dr Jacobs came highly recommended. For the 1st year he as excellent.He was engaged in actively listening, asking questions, & helping to find out what was wrong & what do to about it. Then he stopped returning our phone calls. We had never missed an appointment & paid in full in cash @each visit. The meds weren't working as well & we needed to discuss this. He kept refilling the meds, but didnt call back for 9 months. He did apologize & said it was his fault, but it continued to be an issue.
