Terrible experience! Ruined my life
Not only was my biopsy unnecessary but he permanently took away my balance. This biopsy was performed in July 2019 and I have been falling ever since. I have tried everything from vestibular therapy to hypnosis to chiropractic treatment and I have had more black eyes and bruises and even stitches than I can count! I wish I never had the biopsy done because I had no balance issues before the procedure! I’ve been told that basically he poked something he shouldn’t have so I’m 46 years old and have no hope of regaining my balance.

Dr. Friedman is amazing!
Dr. Friedman removed about 80-85% of my large grade 2 frontoparietal astrocytoma, leaving me with very little to no permanent deficits…amazing considering my tumor was on the sensorimotor strip! So grateful for his skill and precision.

I was diagnosed with a rosette forming glial neuronal brain tumor in my cerebellum that was encroaching on my fourth ventricle at 19. Needless to say, this was a very tricky area and a difficult surgery. I had sought help in my hometown but the surgeon was hesitant and Dr. Friedman took my case. He was very kind and thoughtful and very comforting to my family. From my initial screening appointment to the day of my surgery I was taken very well care of and reassured that Dr. Friedman was extremely competent and extraordinary at what he does. All of the staff in the office and the hospital at Duke were more than exceptional at what they were doing and at patient care. I go every few months for scans and the kindness of the staff never ceases to amaze me! I have been to many different hospitals and met many different doctors and this is by far the best experience I have ever had.

Wonderful!!! I was diagnosed here in Des Moines, Iowa, with stage 4 glioblastoma, and was given 4 to 5 months to live. Dr. Friedman removed the brain tumor and saved my life. I am now a 2 year survivor. I would recommend Dr. Friedman to anyone with a brain tumor.

Dr Friedman took about my level 3 tumor after a local surgeon left over 60 percent in my right temporal lobe. He was lovely and compassionate with my family. My recovery was better than expected. His skill and character were a blessing during the most frightening time of my life

Why me??? in Raleigh, NC – Dec 23, 2016
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Friedman?
Dr. Friedman is AWESOME! His team accepted my daughter into the program at Duke after just a brief conversation with her neuro in Tampa. She was transported by ambulance (a 12 hour drive) to Duke for surgery. Dr. Friedman have us hope where none existed and performed a resection of the right frontal lobe leaving my daughter with exactly zero deficits when others expected long term or permanent problems. I am so thankful that we were led to Dr. Friedman and his amazing team!
