Great physician
Dr. Shigaki demonstrates active listening to its fullest. She has a great deal of medical care knowledge and shares this in a calm and understandable way. I left the facility confident that I would have great care now and in the future.

I saw Dr. Shigaki through Kaiser at the Northgate Clinic. I can't say enough good things about her. I saw Dr. Shigaki about my depression. She listened well didn't push me into any decisions. I wanted to try to approach my depression with natural methods rather than meds and he supported me in that way. She found that my B12 levels were very low and we promptly addressed it with a weekly B12 booster for 4 weeks and then checked the data after. She was open to my suggestions about testing and what I wanted to do. Very supportive and listened well, she asked clarifying questions and encouraged me gently through a difficult period in my life. She was a gift to me and my wife in this time. Thank you! I have had some bad MDs and but she was far from those experiences. If you can get in to see her, do it.

I saw Dr. Shigaki at the Northgate Kaiser Permanente facility. I was looking for a PCP in the WA area and she was in Network- -Listening is an art form, a gift and a necessary quality that nowadays that most Drs. do not have. Dr. Shigaki-has all of these qualities. -I felt really heard by Dr. Shigaki she has a great deal of compassion and understanding. There is no judgement she just wants the best quality care that she can provide. I never ever felt rushed or felt like she had somewhere else to be, which when you are ill is calming. -The staff at the Northgate location were all lovely as well...everyone from the nurses (Ashley in particular) and pharmacy staff. The wait in the waiting room was very short...less than 10 minutes. I felt safe and confident after I left my appointment today, and knowing I found a really great doctor was even better. If she is accepting new patients please make yourself an appointment.

Lacks compassion. Shamed me, seemingly without compunction. Kindness and caring should be fundamental characteristics of a doctor. This doctor does not seem to have a sense of true personal responsibility when caring for a patient.
