Skeptic after reading reviews here. Now Relieved!
I was skeptical and nervous after reading some of the reviews here. I almost cancelled and called somewhere else. My Primary Care and Nephrologist recommended Dr. Mahmood. I’m glad I followed her advice! I don’t usually “review”, but felt I should in this case. The office staff was very welcoming and pleasant. I was in and out of the office in an hour, both times I have been to see Dr. Mahmood. He was very pleasant both visits. He was kind and answered my questions and concerns.I would definitely recommend him!

Waited an hour for him to come into room for treatment. Same as other reviews- complete disregard, for patient concerns. Leave the room extradinoarily fast without time for questions to be asked. Condescending in they way he talks, and lacks basic compassion. Doesn't even ask if his students can shadow the appointment. No problem with a student watching, but some basic courtesy of asking for permission would be appreciated.

Not Good Bedside Manner
I visited this Dr. And I am not sure how I feel about it! I say this because I am also a health professional and will generally understand long wait times and such. This Dr. Is just not nice or maybe he was having a horrible day….very crass and condescending

I think he’s an excellent doctor who explains things well and with compassion. However, today was not a good experience for me, and I doubt I will return. I was in pain and had a 1:15 appointment but was not seen until almost 3:00pm. When I expressed how I felt and that with my level of pain, I would have gone to urgent care if I had known it would take 2 hours to be seen, his response was if I wanted to go to “one of those places” he would not stop me. Not an apology, and not kind. I was surprised and disappointed. He also had someone working with him who didn’t crack a smile or offer a greeting, and he didn’t explain who she was. I’m familiar with the friendly nurse and receptionist, and I always expect someone to be in the room with him during the exam, but it felt uncomfortable having two people in the room in addition to the doctor, especially someone who was not introduced and didn’t engage at all. Very inconsiderate.

An excellent and caring surgeon. As a fellow surgeon I was treated great by his staff and certainly him. The care provided was appropriate and perfectly explained and performed. I will continue to recommend him to all as my patients recommended him to me.

New patient having a colonoscopy. First ofc wait 1 45mins, I had to call to follow-up, call to obtain information 2days before the procedure, left on hold, nurse relying information thru the receptionist. I tell physicians all the time your office staff is a reflection on you. Needless to say I refuse to allow a needle to be placed in my arm for sedation when the treatment I receive prior puts me in a state of being uncomfortable! My health and well being is to valuable. Signed, Patient who care

Dr. Mahmood has numerous awards in his office and accolades to his credit however I found his compassion and problem solving to be nonexistent. HIs office fit me in after complications from birth. I sat waiting (in pain) for an hour and 45 mins trying to entertain my 5 day old baby. I was evaluated and sent on my way in less than 15 mins -recommendation was to do nothing. He also made numerous comments about incontinence not being a ?big deal?. I found a new doctor and was put back together.

I now need a revision surgery and unfortunately, my issue is worse after seeing him. His waits were: 2.5 hours-1 hour each time. He also cancels your post opperative appointments at the 11th hour.

Dr. Mahmood is an outstanding and exceptional physician. I was diagnosed with cancer. I was scared. I wanted to go to MD Andersson. My family convinced me to go to Dr. Mahmood just for an opinion. Let me tell you, from the moment I walked in, was greeted by his staff, his scheduler (Sam who is a guardian angel) to the care he took of me in the hospital; I will be forever in his debt. He was with me by the operation, by the floor wards, and saw me through the surgery. I will beat cancer!
