Waiting time at the office visit is longer than I would like however, Dr Al muhandas is well worth the wait. I never feel like I'm just another one of his patients. He takes time to explain things well to me and explain until I understand. He's very caring and compassionate

Odd that nearly 1/2 of the 41 reviews shown here have 1 star. My first visit was less than pleasant, mostly due to extremely long wait time in the office, exam room, and OR. Although I did not arrive at the usual time for a new patient, I was somewhat chastised for it and after completing the paperwork was sent to "the corner" and waited forever to be called. In addition, it was not clear where to sit or stand initially to be called to the window. If one was to stand in line, how about folks who can't stand for long?? Dr. El-M is a chatterbox with rapid fire explanations and given less to listening to you. My injection procedure did go well although I do agree with others re his bedside manner. My rating is based on this first visit and may well change later.

Dr. El Mohandes has been taking care of me for over a decade. He is the most skilled and compassionate doctor I have ever had. Over the years he has performed a large number of procedures on my back to help with my pain. He is extremely knowledgeable and I have never had a problem. He understands chronic pain extraordinarily well and truly cares about his patients. He has helped me when I had to undergo surgery with post-op issues and even talking to my surgeons. I can't recommend him enough

Would give 0 stars if possible. Never spent more than 60 secs with me. Ask a question and he will leave & not come back. Wouldn't let me explain my pain to him. My condition is listed as a disability with the social security administration yet he did not see it as a disabling condition. I offered him a pain log I keep and he refused to see it. Was in the hospital & he refused to see me even though it is required that you can only get pain treatment from pain doctor. He will cause you more pain.

High, he seems to be a caring Doctor it's just the REALLY long wait time & expectation that you have nothing better to do. Sadly I do have a life and can't or won't do that. The staff seem to think that you are office furniture or something . Who wants to wait in a doctors office for nearly an hour to be seen or in some cases over an hour? Heck they even forgot one poor little lady for two hours one visit! My last doctor required me to be at the place 15 minutes early, that is reasonable.

On my initial appointment Dr. El-mohandes was great. He showed me on a model vertebra exactly what was happening with my disc and nerves. Cathy, my nurse is one of the best. She is kind, smart, and funny. My only issue with the practice is parking is terrible.

Dr El-Mohandes was an excellent Dr at my first visit in MD in July. But the 2nd visit, he let another Dr do the injections, he was in the office BUT another nice Dr did the shot,. That was not the point, I had another appt. with Dr. ElMohandes. I was NOT TOLD that he was not doing my procedure. I was on the table, gowned and ready when the lady Dr. came in. I was not of mind then to just leave.I was all set for the shot, so i wanted to move on!! I will not use that office in Silver Spring!!

Don't waste your time here. This is where negligence meets incompetence in an all out battle for which will be the dominate trait for this practice. This man is only out to sell pain pumps. You'd think he gets a commission on the like a used car salesman. After screwing up my wife's oral meds we wouldn't dare widen the margin of error by getting a pain pump installed even if she were eligible for that procedure. I would be driving my wife to a morgue if we did.

I have been going to this doctor for a few years now and he has literally given me my life back. I'm a little shocked to read some of the comments on here about this doctor because he has an excellent bedside manner. He jokes around and tries to ease your mind, especially when you're about to go through an extremely painful procedure. He is very caring and is constantly making sure I'm not in pain while he's doing my radiofrequency ablation procedures. I would not want anyone else to touch me!

Dr. El-Mohandes is very caring and has a great beside manner...I have had an IT Pain Pump since 2003 and Dr. Loev was my doctor then but he went to a different office and suggested I see El-Mohandes and I am glad he did been going here 16 years and I am extremely pleased. He listens to me and doesn't rush me out. Every pain specialist will require a pain contract and drug screens and with the way things are today with people abusing medications I feel it's best. Wonderful office

After my first visit I find that Dr El-Muhandes is friendly, knowledgable and makes you part of your own treatment, encouraging input while presenting options. You do have to agree not to get pain meds elsewhere and submit to drug screens as with any doctor prescribing opiates but he is sensitive about your pain and willing to prescribe the necessary meds. He preforms many procedures right in his office. My impression is that he is very good at what he does while having a great bedside manner.

This practice is un-professional and adversarial. They require pain Contracts?, expensive drug screenings. They use any excuse to force you into a compliance program that requires multiple monthly visits and even more expensive drug screenings. This practice only cares about the money from you and your insurance company. I have filed an insurance fraud complaint against them because they forced me into this Compliance program and are now refusing to give me the medication that I need!
