Does Not Listen!!
I just got a call from a radiology place to confirm a test. I left Dr Soto over a month ago because he yelled at me in front of the entire office and waiting room. He is still trying to schedule things, and he is no longer my doctor. He refers within his pathetic circle of PAs but won’t refer a patient to a real doctor because the high and mighty Alfred Soto knows everything, and his patients are all stupid. The man should not have a medical license. Please do not go there or take your loved ones there. He really is out of control with his ego. So sorry I ever went there, but I was new to the area and didn’t know better.

PLEASE, don't torture yourself.
Soto is a high and mighty, I AM right Dr. Insists on electronically sent orders that never seem to get where they should be. Soto will stand above you and give you the nasty, why are the tests not done look. You go to get your test done and they don't have it. To Soto, it is your fault. Done to us 3 times. Soto is too high and mighty to communicate with his desk staff. Or they don't complete they tasks in time for your next appt. The desk staff will ask you to come back tomorrow to pick up a printed order. Don't make the trip, it is never done. All the desk staff knows how to say is, It is still being processed. Believe me, it will never be done. Make sure you take your blood pressure meds or zanax, before calling them. Oh, he is SO fired!! And his office staff!

I would never reccomend this Dr. to any body.
When I got in the appointment he made it clear I was just the patient and he was the Dr. so I should just shut up and listen. He made me cry and then told me crying was not doing any good cause he wasn't going to tolerate it. He told me to see a psychiatrist. He was down right mean.

Incompetent
This office staff dropped the ball on so many levels. Absolutely horrible service, no accountability, no professionalism, and just a lack of empathy.

Communication
I Asked questions and tried to advocate for myself. He got frustrated easily with me and wanted me to just listen. So I gave up. Left office with many unaddressed issues. Had to call back and send messages to him.

The nurse that first did my vital signs and EKG was very nice and appropriate. However, the physician (Dr. Soto) entered the room without introducing himself and started examining me. I had to ask who he was. He never explained what he was doing or why. After a very brief examination, he looked at my medications and started to tell me that he would not prescribe two of my medications because they were controlled substances and I would have to see a psychiatrist or pain management to get the medications (Tramadol and Ambien). It was ridiculous because these medications were previously prescribed by all of my prior primary physicians and I've been on them for years. First, I never asked him at any time to renew my medications or had any opportunity to discuss the medications I was prescribed because he just immediately started jumping on me about the two medications he did not want to prescribe. Second, no pain management doctor is going to prescribe medications for sleep. At least none that I've ever encountered. I don't believe a psychiatrist is required to order sleep medication. When we asked what he could do, he became defensive and started to tell us all the different boards and stuff he had sat on in the past. However, he never asked once why I came to see him. He made the assumption from the start that I was physician shopping. He made the comment,"what are you here for because you are changing around to a different doctor." I had only seen one physician/nurse practitioner since I have been in Ocala so there was no reason to adopt this attitude. I only wanted to switch because my Aetna case manager recommended that I find a primary care physician. He told me that I was insulting him because I asked what he could do. Bad attitude, no interest in providing care, made assumptions without ever having any reason to do so. Worst physician I have ever seen in 65 years on this earth. I would highly recommend that no one who needs treatment or care see this physician because he clearly had zero interest in getting to know me or making any attempt to do so. If I could have given him zero stars I would have. If you have chronic illnesses, don't bother to see this guy. I've had an ear infection and he looked in my ears and said it was fine. I had to tell him why I came to see him, but he appeared to have no interest in addressing my complaint. In fact, he went immediately to are you a smoker. My wife and I finally told him that we were going to seek care elsewhere because we felt that he was not capable of managing my care at an appropriate level or at any level. Normally, a primary care physician should take a few minutes to get to know you by asking some general questions about your past medical history, what medications you are taking and why, what you are there to see them for that particular visit, etc. I can tell you that this guy did none of those things. My wife and I both left this office very upset over his attitude and behavior.

Found Soto to be condescending and dismissive. Displayed no concern for my Elderly mother as she sat there with a broken finger and other health problems. He just read the records, walked out the room and minutes later returned saying the appointment was over. Never met a doctor with such an abrasive attitude. Would not recommend.

We set up a new patient visit for three of us. We reported for the visits 30 minutes early and waited for the staff to get off the phone for over 20 minutes to even check us in and provide the new patient paperwork to begin to complete. While completing the massive amount of paperwork (of which I had everything written out on my own paperwork and previous medical records to expedite) we were called back to the exam room. All three of us were placed in the same exam room. A few minutes later, Dr. Soto came in and without introduction accused us of not arriving on time to complete paperwork and that we "making other people wait on us". We had 3 appointment times and it was his staff that caused the delay. Not our problem that his staff is inefficient and they double book him!

I can't believe this clown is in med practice. Exactly as stated in other reviews, the game here is to read charts and prescribe as many tests as could be reasonably considered to be valid. He must get a kickback from the clinics. He prescribed Echocardiograms when I don't have heart issues and all patients are forced to have EKGs. They never call in prescriptions until reminded days / weeks later. They simply are incompetent and uncaring. it's scary what this guy is doing - making tons of cash!

Patient of Soto for 1½ yr. He prescribed med, tried it, made me desperately sick. He said, "it cannot do that," and told me to keep taking it. It was 40 mg per day. I didn't take it. Next visit, and next, he insists I imagined prob, this cholesterol med cannot make me weak and feeling very sick, told me to take it or he would have to note in my file that I refused his treatment. Then lowered it to 10 mg every other day! Deal with drug company? He is the worst, he said it was all in my head.

Worst Doctor I ever met. Refuse to look at the conditions I went to get taken care of. It was obvious the he did not even read the required paperwork (many pages) I filled out about 3 main concerns I had. Ordered testing I did not need, or had any indication of needing. He was rude about almost everything I asked about. The only good thing about this man pretending to be a doctor is the great staff that works with him.

Changed to Dr Soto 3 years ago. Am very satisfied. He takes the time to explain issues and treats all symptoms. Refers to specialist only when necessary, does not hesitate to treat issues if reasonable. Has resolved at least one problem other Drs chose to ignore. He not only appears very knowledgeable but also very progressive.
