Dr. Alexis Light, MD

Dr. Light is amazing.

Even though I've only had 2 appts with Dr. Light, she's made such a positive impression on me. She shows genuine concern for her patients as people, asking me about my pronoun preferences, checking in on my work life and the changes going on, as well as concern for my health. She knew exactly what we had discussed last visit and we continued on the same plan. She was thorough in explaining what tests were or were not due, the exams that would be done that day, and the plan for the next appt. I have to commend her especially for being a great conversationalist. She knows how to put me at ease in her office and make the environment completely non-awkward. Both times I've been seen by her, she keeps conversation throughout the exam which I so appreciate.

Dr. Light listened, provided options, was reassuring, and overall excellent.

I was avoidant of seeking care from an OBGYN for 10 years due to gender dysphoria and social anxiety. In our first appointment, Dr. Light made me feel incredibly comfortable through a lot of scary 'firsts.' She asked me questions about my preferences, explained exactly what the process would be like for my exam, and left a lot of room for me to share any concerns or needs. She made my experience starting gender affirming care more comfortable and efficient than I ever had imagined it would be. She also always leaves a very detailed note in the patient portal which allows me to review our conversation and learn more. I am so happy I found her and would highly recommend her to anyone seeking trauma-informed and or queer care.

[...] My appointments with Dr. Light are exceptional. I feel I truly have autonomy and information about my whole care plan. I'm unafraid to ask clarifying questions and I get a lot of information on my conditions so I can make appropriate decisions about my treatment. I often recommend Dr. Light to others.

Always feel like I'm being listened to and my concerns are taken seriously. My questions about current and future health concerns are listened to and options and care plans are provided which brings me knowledge and comfort

This was the first time I had seen Dr. Light. She was fantastic! She listened and helped me make decisions that were both in the best interest of my health, but also my life. She answered an insurance question and took the time to explain recent mammogram results that were completely unrelated to the issue I was currently experiencing. She was kind and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Dr. Light!

I adore Dr. Light. Even though I have no intention of having kids, she still treats me with respect and wants me to be healthy. That's not always been my experience.

Dr. Light was attentive, knowledgeable, and explained thoroughly and in easy to digest methods. Her questioning was relevant and thorough. She made me feel extremely involved in my plan of treatment and answered all questions. She provided alternative solutions to the issue while never making me feel invalidated or dumb. She reiterated she wasn't there to dissuade me in my decisions but to provide the facts and risks/benefits to help inform my decision. I appreciated that she was realistic and thorough and I never felt unsupported throughout the discussion. I feel confident in continuing to have these discussions with her throughout the years as circumstances and mindsets change and feel confident that she's going to be there to support me.
