Excellent surgeon. He is kind and takes his time.
He explains conditions well. Post op was half the time to recover compared to my first lumbar fusion with another surgeon. His PA Luis is also amazing.

Short appointment, excellent results
In 2019-2020, I was debilitated with back pain, I could barely walk. I was referred to Dr. Iezza and our first appointment was very brief, which had me concerned. A friend said that my experience was not uncommon with surgeons and that if there was a crisis during surgery, one would prefer an unemotional surgeon. I suggest going to an appointment with 2-3 questions and doing research on your own before and after. My PCP strongly recommended Dr. Iezza so I stuck with him. My L4-L5 microdiscectomy was a success. The care I received at his office was excellent. If I need back surgery again, I would return.

Excellent Spine Specialist
I am/was a Navy trained OR Tech. I left from my last job at SR Community Hosp in '82, for more money and insurance! Sports led to three rotary cuff repairs and two meniscectomies. An accident led to two procedures on my ankle. When my cervical spine needed work I relied on the precision work I knew Iezza developed thru UC Davis's Chem E and Mech E program (Go Aggies), and his further studies at Chicago's and Stanford's medical debts. He fused five of my seven cervical vertebrae. Now it's time for my lumbar spine and relief from a leg which goes from pain to silent; I count on Iezza's talent to do what can be done. Those who gave Iezza one star; are likely malingerers or poor candidates for surgery. I've tech'd in surgery from toes to brains... except transplants, and worked with hundreds of surgeons, from old school not far from pasture to hot shot medical professors, Iezza can be trusted to give your case all the attention and care it requires. And, his 'bedside manner' is fine.

***ALERT**** Dear fellow patients, I am a retired law enforcement officer. I have been going to Redwood Orthopaedic Surgery Associates for over 10 years for work related injuries. I have been pleased until this year, when I met Dr. Alexander Iezza. Without question, this is the worst physician I have ever met. He was rushed, didn't listen to what I had to say, refused to review medical files I provided. Wrote a prescription that he later stated he could not justify; falsified two medical reports; and refused to discuss his false report when I asked to speak with him to correct his report. He is the "most recent addition" to the staff at his outfit. When I brought my concerns to the attention of the office director, they canceled all of my appointments and terminated my treatment by all physicians. I have filed a complaint with the medical board and will be filing a lawsuit against Dr. Iezza. If you have been a victim, please contact me, I can help you get an attorney.

My experience with Dr. Iezza was very unpleasant to say the least. I went to the appointment with high hopes that my issues would finally be resolved. I had a couple MRI's and thought we would be reviewing and discussing the results and what my treatment options would be. He didn't even discuss with me, just had his notepad and said he was referring me to physical therapy. I was quite confused and asked about the issues my MRI showed. The pain specialist I had seen prior, had discussed with me some issues that seemed pretty relevant. Enough to refer me to an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon for a consult. Dr. Iezza basically made me feel like I was wasting his time and I felt like it was ridiculous to him that I was even there. He said I shouldn't even have any pain caused by my issues, and what I had was like the equivalent to having a bruise on my arm, it's nothing. I asked if the pressure on my nerves from my back issues, could be causing muscle spasms and shaking in my lower leg.

Visit felt very rushed and I was made to feel it was all in my head. He said I had mild defeneration in my neck but that it was so mild I shouldn't be experiencing any pain. He didn't say anything else. He sent me to a pain mgt Dr who told me I have a bulging disk, arthritis and moderate degeneration. I am thankful at least that I was referred to someone who listened and thouroughly reviewed my info.

I was so relieved to finally be seeing a spine specialist today to learn about my condition, have my questions answered, and get a prognosis for the future. Dr Iezzo was a huge let-down. He spent less than 10 minutes with me before walking out for 5 minutes to get a slip of paper referring me to a physical therapist. I never felt so rushed in a Dr's office. His questions were abrupt and he didn't let me finish answering them before he interrupted me. I didn't get a chance to ask any questions. I wanted to take some notes on what he was saying but he said he'll type up some notes to send to my regular Dr. so I don't need to take notes. He didn't ask if I had questions. His wrap-up to me was see a physical therapist and come back to his office in 6 weeks. I did not feel seen or heard or helped. I told him I'd never felt so rushed by any Dr and I hadn't been able to ask questions. He asked what questions I had but he was only trying to cover himself at that point. Won't be back.

He was a horrible doctor. He interrupted and spoke over me continuously. It was like he made up his mind about me before he even listened. He literally walked out of the office during my appointment. I left the appointment with him feeling very hopeless and in tears. I have never had such a terrible experience and I hope no one else experiences this either. Sorry I wasn't worth your time because I'm not surgical. Thanks for not treating me like a human.

Very much appreciated the professional courtesy and technical medical proficiency of Dr. Alexander Iezza in his diagnosing and treating my beloved family member. Based on my experience in dealing with over 100,000 Armed Forces personnel and civilians in a twenty years span, Dr. Alexander's demeanor and comportment, proves with no doubt whatsoever, he a most capable and worthy medical professional far exceeding that of his peers.

Dr. Iezza is the best doctor. He has done surgery on both my cervical and lumbar spine. I have been seeing him for my lower back pain and cervical spine for a few years. Dr. Iezza performed a fusion on both my neck and lower back. OMG, before I had my fusion on my lower back, I could not function without a high dose of pain medication. Now after being 4-months post Op I no longer have pain in my lower back. Dr. Iezza is the best. I no longer need pain medication which is wonderful. Thank you!

Very disappointed with the lack of sympathy and abruptness of attitude exhibited by him during this brief appointment. Felt rushed and was interrupted at least three times when I tried to explain my problem. I left feeling that perhaps I did something wrong! If you’re looking for a compassionate doctor with a good bedside manner, I wouldn’t recommend Dr. Iezza.

My first appointment with Dr Iezza was very disappointing . He asks very few questions and only wants a one or two word answer. If he’s lucky he will grow into a caring doctor some day. I would not refer anyone to him at this time. There are many other good caring doctors in Sonoma County to see.

My Dr. referred me to Dr. Iezza due to back & referred foot pain which podiatrist & nerve conduction specialist say is nerve damage from bulging disk. I felt like he was dismissive and rushed, did not listen or take the time to explain. I walked out feeling like it was a waste of time and like I had done something to offend or upset Dr. Iezza.

Unfortunately, I never saw Dr. Iezza. After waiting several weeks for my appointment, I arrived at the office with my completed patient history and paperwork only to be informed by that because I declined to sign the Arbitration Agreement that was, apparently, mandatory and not a choice, I would not be seen by him. I traveled a ways for this appointment and it would have saved everyone a great deal of time and inconvenience had I known that signing the form was a prerequisite to seeing him.

spent less than 2 minutes of time with each of the 2 times I saw him. too little time to make me feel any better about him or a diagnosis. could have told me over the phone what he told me at the visit which was basically I can't do anything for you. He might be a spine specialist, but not a communication or people person.
