Costly mistake
I was having issues with double vision. I saw Dr.Grand in 2024 and he wrote a prescription for prism lenses. I ended up spending $895 on glasses & sunglasses with the new prism prescription and continued having issues. When I was able to finally see another doctor, they said that Dr. Grand had written the prism prescription wrong. Now if I want to have the correct prism rx put in, I will need all new lenses. I understand everyone makes mistakes, but this is extremely frustrating and insurance will not reimburse me for any of it.

Double vision specialist
I was amazed that Dr Grand figured out my issue with double vision. My other doctors made guesses but he really figured it out. I’m amazed with how few doctors like him there are

Disrespectful
I had an overall negative experience with Dr. Grand and I have no confidence that he could provide me with adequate care. I felt steamrolled, dismissed, and it did not sit well with me how quickly he started pushing prisms or a surgical consult, when he did not even know what was wrong with me. I could tell that he was not familiar with my chart (which is fair enough, I understand doctors have enormous workloads), but he barely asked me any questions; or when he did, he talked over me when I tried to answer. This was after he immediately dismissed a diagnosis made by my neurologist and my opthalmologist.

He saved my life
I had a bump on my eye for more than 6 months and saw a series of doctors that said it was a benign process. The thing was that when I sat with Dr Grand he said it looked very suspicious, so he took the time to explain that it looked like Lymphoma and he insisted on a biopsy. He did the biopsy and it came back positive! He set me up with an oncologist who started me on the correct chemo that kept the condition from growing and actually get rid of it! I’m in remission because of Dr G, thank you!

Advanced Doctor! Solved my eye problem !
Dr Grand was very compassionate. It’s stressful to see multiple doctors all over greater Sac and be on waitlist and Dr Grand diagnosed my condition, even though no one wants to hear my neuro issue, he explained in detail my diagnosis and I feel so relieved to be in his patient care. I don’t know what I would do if it wasn’t for his speciality and practice.

Rushes, Interrupts, Tells You He Can't Help You
I was referred to for vision issues that seem to be neurological in nature. I had a brain MRI that didn't show any optic neuritis, but my optometrist was able to point out some optic disc cupping. Dr. Grand didn't even notice this, and then told me "I can't help you" after describing visual snow, blurry vision, and some pain behind the right eye. My doctor and optometrist both thought it to be Covid-related. Dr. Grand said told me my glasses were made incorrectly. My vision issues remain with and without glasses. After verifying they were not, I still suffer from blurry vision and pain in the right eye. My new eye doctor has already found issues that we are treating. In a message correspondence via MyChart, he was more focused on quoting me to cover his bases in writing when I complained about the lack of action taken on his part. His staff is friendly, he is not. This man will turn you away if the solution is not obvious, be warned. Avoid at all costs.

Dr Grand requires an MRI brain scan before seeing patients with double vision (diplopia). I thought he might offer some insight into my particular diplopia so I got the MRI and scheduled an appointment My experience was more than disappointing. He said he required a brain MRI to rule out a brain tumor. I thought that was rather odd since most diplopia issues have nothing to do with bran tumors. I brought him the cd of my MRI but he was not interested in looking at it. Instead he asked to see the written report. I already knew it indicated there was no serious issues. It was disappointing that he was not interested in looking at the MRI to make sure that the report was accurate. I had recently gotten glasses with prisms from another doctor. They were effective but I was having trouble with my distance vision. I was expecting that he would give me a complete eye exam but instead he asked to see the prescription from the other doctor. I informed him I was also doing vision therapy
