Remarkable neurosurgeon
Dr. Gamble is a truly remarkable neurosurgeon—he has given me my active lifestyle back, and I finally feel like myself again. He performed a five-level lumbar spine fusion for me, and the results have far exceeded my expectations. Three years earlier, I had undergone a one-level fusion in Boston. That experience came with a very difficult recovery and poor outcome. In contrast, the surgery with Dr. Gamble was significantly less painful, and the recovery smoother.I’m off pain medications and have returned to activities I love—swimming, biking, playing pickleball, and strength training. Dr. Gamble is not only incredibly skilled, but also personable and compassionate. I have deep respect and gratitude for the years of training and clinical experience that have shaped his expertise. One thing he said to me before surgery really stuck: “If it’s not hard, it’s not worth doing.” That mindset, along with his exceptional care, has given me back my life.I highly recommend Dr Gamble

Dr Gamble performed amazing surgerys!
Telehealth
My first surgery was an emergency, and he expedited it as fast as possible. He thoroughly cares about his patients. I asked his fellow staffers what they thought of him and all agreed that he’s the one to do any kind of surgery for them. That says a lot.

One of the best docs I've seen
Dr. Gamble recently replaced a disc in my spine, and while that may sound like a rather unpleasant experience, he made it as fun as possible. He is kind, takes all patients seriously, regardless of age or appearance, and genuinely cares about what he does, which is so rare these days. I've been on the receiving end of some extremely apathetic care, and I was terrified this experience would be the same. It was not in the least. I also appreciated that he didn't talk down to me, and instead talked 'up' to me, where he stopped to explain medical nomenclature as he went so I would know exactly what was happening. His entire staff is kind and helpful also, I have only had positive experiences, and the surgical assistant with him was such a lovely person too!I like my fake disc better than my old one, and as bad as having a cervical disc landing in your spinal cord is, at least I got a killer surgeon out of the deal. This guy is legit and I'm grateful for the ability to move again!

I had Kyphoplasty (back surgery) done for two compression fractures and some biopsies.Dr. Gamble took the time to explain the possible outcomes. He ordered more MRI's to have a thorough understanding of my spine beyond the fractures. I felt like I was in very capable hands! His staff at New Hampshire NeuroSpine Institute, from scheduling to nursing were on top of things; calling to see that I got whatever test was needed. Follow-up OT and PT were ordered and that was appreciated for home and then out-patient. A friend, seeing me a few weeks after the surgery said, 'I've never seen you stand so straight and tall.' I highly recommend Dr. Gamble!

Can't ask for better!
I had to have surgery and was very apprehensive about it. Had been living with pain for close to 10 years. After consulting with Dr. Gamble for a second opinion, decided that it was time and he was the guy. He was professional yet real. He explained the type of surgery, how he would do the surgery, and what to expect from the recovery. He helped me to understand how critical Physical Therapy would be to my recovery and set me up with a fantastic PT from his office. At 3 months post surgery, I have virtually no pain, I have completed 7 weeks of PT, and I feel better than I have in 10 years. I have more energy and am looking forward to this next phase of my life without back pain. I would recommend Dr. Gamble wholeheartedly and without hesitation.

Thank you Dr. Gamble and your team!
Dr. Gamble asked why I was here to see him. I told him my back pain was excruciating. This was last year. I was hunched over and it was painful to walk, keep up with daily chores along working full time. I had my spinal fusion L3 to L5 done last December 18th, 2023. From then been seeing him about every 3 months. I was in today and with every visit I am on track and doing great! I am out of that excruciating pain and hard to believe how I was just a year ago today. I can not thank him and his team enough for given me my life back! ( I am standing straight again too!) I know other people who had him or one of the other doctors at NH Nero Spine and they have been very happy too!

Dr. Alexander Gamble is amazing!! Perfection!!
I have been under Dr. Gamble's care since late 2022 due to a bad cervical disc. He performed a disc replacement surgery on me in May 2024 and everything went perfect. He is at the top of his profession, very personable and confident in his skills. That all shows in his professionalism and knowledge of everything that I was experiencing, and what to do to fix it. I could not be any happier with his care and with the results from the surgery. Perfection is the best word that comes to mind!!!! Thank you so much Dr. Gamble. You have given me a new beginning and an excellent chance at living a more pain free life.

Dr. Gamble is a kind, caring surgeon.
Prior to surgery, Dr. Gamble explained the surgery as I looked at the MRI results. I knew what was going to happen. He works with a great team of folks and I knew I was in good hands. My follow up visits were also informative and he was always ready to answer questions that I had. He took the time to explain the details. When I had questions and called the office the staff consultant with him and my questions were answered in a timely fashion.I had PT in the building where he works. If he walked by and happened to see me, he stopped in to say hello or gave me a quick wave on the way past.

Dr. Gamble performed surgery on May 9 including a laminectomy, a facetectomy and a foraminotomy on L4, 5 and S1. My advanced age may have been a factor, and there was significant arthritis and scar tissue from previous surgery; yet his work allowed almost complete success, with little pain and discomfort immediately following surgery and three weeks out. His professionalism was always apparent in the pre-op check-up, the brief meeting prior to the surgery, and the follow-up; but Dr. Gamble showed patience and interest and willingness to explain in all aspects of the surgery and recovery. I am completely satisfied with the results thus far and am grateful to Dr. Gamble.

A Skillful Surgeon with Empathy
My wife & I met with Dr Gamble after 15-months of no specialist being able to diagnose my condition of the brain. In our first meeting, Dr Gamble was able to confirm the emergency room preliminary finding of Hydrocephalus. After his initial outline of my condition etc. he advised two courses of action. His knowledge and insights were clear to me even though I had some level of diminished capacity. He took the time to explain fully what would be the process and procedures for the implant of a VP Shunt and the possible outcomes. We followed his recommendations for the Shunt Implant and 3-months later, I have made a full recovery. Post the procedure, I have had several follow-up appointments with Dr Gamble and I have found his insights and willingness to address all questions and concerns with empathy, rigor, and humor. We completed a CT scan review, where he took time to explain the various changes to my brain. He was skillful and kind in a time of great stress and uncertainty.

Minimally Invasive Discectomy
Dr. Gamble was awesome! Explained everything clearly and completely during initial consultation. Met with me again the morning of surgery to review and answer any questions I had. Surgery was about an hour and a half. Dr. Gamble went to meet with my wife while I was in recovery to let her know everything went well. Surgery was a complete success! I'm 8 weeks post-op and back is so much better than prior to surgery! Would highly recommend Dr. Gamble!
