Dr. Alex Johnson, MD

Dr Johnson was prompt for my appointment and very professional. I found him very helpful.

I was assigned Dr. Johnson when my previous cardiologist left St Als. My first and only meeting with him was at the hospital the morning of my angiogram. After getting my blood test results, he burst into my room and announced '... you are going to die', claimed my LDL was 'very high,' without sharing lipid panel numbers. He assumed that my angiogram would show that my arteries were clogged. The angiogram showed that my arteries are NOT clogged. There was one 'lesion' that showed some plaque. He neglected to review the results with me- I was out of the room when he spoke with my wife. He proceeded to get into a debate with her about nutrition and how I shouldn't eat 'land locked animals'. He jumped to conclusions, was rude, pompous, combative, and UNPROFESSIONAL. He made statements/assumptions prior to having all of the data and did nothing but peak my anxiety with his comments. My impression of this person is that the words 'I was wrong' have never passed his lips.

I found Dr Johnson to be very comprehensive in zeroing in on my heart issues that needed to be addressed. He was quick in assessing and everything he said made sense. No nonsense, but personable, I soon had high confidence in his medical knowledge and practices. Dr Johnson listens, and doesn’t rush. He offers other options if a med doesn’t fix the issue, including a referral to someone else that may have more options to offer. I’m so thankful to be under his care as I go through this time of heart rehab.

I just did my annual heart checkup with Dr Johnson and as past visits it was very good he is a knowledgeable and caring doctor. I do have one complaint he can't fix. The doubling and tripling of the check in procedure. I do the electronic check and still have to jump hoops at the office makes me want to quit the electronic check in it saves no time.

Another excellent visit with Dr. Johnson. He is always attentive to my concerns and fully aware of my history.

Explains info very clearly

Dr. Johnson will support your concerns, even if that means dismissing a current prescription drug not even necessary or talking through medical guidance for optimizing your health. In this regard he speaks truthfully. If you want to be on drugs, you can, but if you're concerned, he will be on your side. Obviously all of our needs are different. Bottom line, he listens, he has a good bedside manner and is professional.

Made sure my heart is being cared for properly. Also talked about my diabetes.

Dr. Johnson listened to every aspect of my condition . The appointment was on time the staff was great the doctor was very informative. I like the way he was explaining what my heart was doing and his plan to adjust my medication if necessary and to keep me informed of any necessary procedures that might be needed in the future. I felt very comfortable , he explained everything thoroughly and I would highly recommend him.

I really liked Dr Johnson. He was very informative and took his time to answer all of my questions. I felt very comfortable and like he really cares about his patients. Front staff was so nice too and my first impression was A+!

He failed in even greeting or acknowledging the presence of my husband on first office visit. Ordered appropriate studies, but failed in any follow-up response.
