The doctor was very informative and made everything clear for me to make a choice. I opted for one more set of pain shots before we try Surgery. He was concise and said he saw my point and suggest i try that first. Then we could move to surgery if needed. I plan to get surgery in the fall of 2025.

The staff was great from the pre surgery call to the day of my surgery. They were professional and even knew a few jokes to keep me at ease. My laminectomy procedure was from the L2-L4, the procedure went well and Dr. Speciale and staff were there before and after the procedure to answer any questions or concerns. Be prepared to ask questions and follow the staffs direction for icing and meds. I did have discomfort, but it is starting to subside with time and that should be expected. You are in great hands with the team.

Dr. Speciale was my husband surgeon for his lumbar fusion. Everything turn out to be a success.

I scheduled an appointment a few months ago, I was told Dr Speciale would be out of town on the date of my original appointment a few weeks ago and I needed to reschedule. I have made 3 calls over a period of 3 weeks to the "Orthopedic Care Coordinator" and never got a call back. I have decided to find another physician for my back problem. He may be an excellent physician, but the office staff leaves a lot to be desired. I am a Family Practice Physician who had referred many patients to Dr. Speciale. I feel it is insulting not to have gotten a call back. Not because I am a physician but because I am a prospective patient.

Dr Speciale operated on my lumbar spine in the midst of the pandemic when only emergency surgery was allowed. My condition quickly deteriorated and he was able to advocate for me me and was permitted to perform emergency lumbar discectomy and remove a ruptured cyst from my spine. He was compassionate and an expert in his field. No complications, easy recovery and I did not need much pain medication following procedure. I would highly recommend him and if I have another problem he will be my first choice. I had only met him on zoom visits and first met him in person in the pre-op area yet being an RN I had full confidence in him due to his knowledge and compassion on the phone.

Two virtual visits, the first he was 3 hours, 38minutes late and called when I was getting ready for work and unavailable. Setup another appointment a week later this time after work and 3 hours, 15 minutes later he still hasn't responded. This doctor needs to be more professional and communicate with his staff to schedule correctly and communicate with patients when the schedule is broken.

I would like to leave a positive review and I’m sure he is a great doctor but his office staff are not so great. I waited for over a month to get a first appointment and never received a reminder call so I called this morning and was told I don’t have an appointment, what the heck. I give up and will go somewhere else for care!! Sorry Dr. Speciale but you need to do something about your staff.

Dr. Speciale is an excellent doctor and surgeon. He has taken care of my mom for years and our entire family has been impressed by his bedside manner, compassion, and knowledge base. He is always available when we have questions and we trust him implicitly. We would highly recommend Dr. Speciale to anyone suffering from back pain.

He has been my surgeon for many years. He’s kind and compassionate and I’m so thankful he is my surgeon. He actually listens and wants what’s best for his patients.

I'm recovering well from a ACD. My scar is already all but gone. Pros: Dr. Speciale is calm & experienced, explains things well, spends time with you, honest about diagnosis/prognosis, and very good at his job! Cons: His PA has zero personality and though he's professional (I'm sure good at his job), he's a pain to talk to and acts bothered by questions and in a hurry. The front desk staff should learn to smile & be kind! we're not exactly having fun being there either AND we're freaked out.

Dr. Speciale performed a LLIF spinal fusion on me I June 2017. I am a week after surgery and have yet to need any kind of pain medication. Excellent surgeon. Great bedside manner. I did my research and his name kept coming up. Easy decision for me. I travelled over 3.5 hrs one way to have Dr. Speciale perform my surgery.

Dr. Speciale is an excellent Doctor and has a wonderful bedside manner. He took a lot of time explaining the procedure and was very clear and thoughtful during all our visits. After just a few weeks post surgery I was feeling like a new person.

I am very pleased with the surgery that Dr. Speciale. Today marks 5 weeks and I feel great. Five months ago I fell down 13 steps and broke my back in 2 places, my breast bone and my ring finger on my right hand. Today I am out of my upper brace and have literally little pain. The attention to my physical needs were met 110%. My hospital stay after surgery was very good, I was well taken care of by Dr. Speciale and his assistant Phil. The hospital staff was truly genuinely caring too!
