Dr. Albert Chung, MD

I had been experiencing increasing rectal pain for several months. I tried to address the problem through my regular health plan, but I received mixed diagnoses and I ended up feeling lost and clueless. I found Dr. Chung’s informative videos on YouTube and, convinced by his vast knowledge in the subject, decided to give him a call. After talking with him I decided to see him in person and I’m so glad I did. He diagnosed the problem right away and we scheduled surgery soon after. There are big differences between Dr. Chung and most doctors. First, he listens to you and understands what you’re going through, physically and emotionally. I left his office with a lot of hope and a sense of direction. The surgery was successful and he saw me daily afterward, even on weekends. He takes the time to answer any questions. I cannot recommend him enough – I would give him 10 stars if I could. The money I spent was well worth it. He is an excellent doctor and an exceptional human being.

As a medical doctor myself, I know how hard it is to find a physician who is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but also compassionate. It is obvious that Dr. Chung truly cares about his patients. I did not know him but I traveled an hour to see him, based on his reviews and his YouTube channel. I am so glad I did -- if you see him, you will not be disappointed. You will receive the finest care available anywhere.

Word doesn’t describe how awesome Dr Chung is. He is a passionate doctor that care for his patients. You are not just a number or a payment to him.. he took care of my bottom end issues, gave me his undivided attention and always listened to my concerns. He is the best proctologist in town !

Dr. Albert Chung is an incredible doctor and surgeon. While my experiences with similar physicians left a lot to be desired, it is evident Dr. Chung has chosen to be a doctor who emphasizes on complete, thoroughly informative and compassionate care. He has remarkable expertise as well, and I cannot recommend him enough.   I was initially concerned that he was out-of-network, however, that was quickly resolved when I found his fees were extremely reasonable for the extent of care provided and absolutely worth it.  When you consider the time and energy one typically expends to go through a series of appointments, dealing with various internists and specialists, and often times, the outcome doesn’t yield a *real* solution, the choice is clear.  It is now a month after my procedure and I cannot believe how much my life has improved for the better. Dr. Chung has been completely accessible to me from start to finish. I continue to be impressed with the level after care provided too

I recently went to see Dr Chung regarding a medical concern. I could not be happier, especially given my circumstance. He provided me a lot of information over the phone and was able to get me into his office same day! Dr Chung has an unconventional approach to medical care - and the overarching theme is “he is personable”! He also has a good, subtle sense of humor, which helped put me at ease. I opted to go with a procedure in office. Needless to say, I’m very nervous of needles - but Dr Chung explained every step to make sure I was comfortable. His help has put me on a fast track to recovery - and to get back to a normal life. Dr Chung is not like other doctors... he’s actually what ALL doctors should aspire to be! Even though he was “out of network”, the cost was relatively low. He has low overhead, which allows him to avoid the “patient-mill” feel of other doctor offices. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr Chung!

Because of a nearly two-month wait to see my previous colorectal guy over at UCI, I thought I'd take a chance on Dr. Chung even though he is an out of network provider who doesn't take insurance. Wow--what a difference working with someone who isn't rushing to get you in and out, or making you wait for an hour in the waiting room and another hour in the exam room. Dr. Chung was extremely punctual (he only schedules one patient at a time in lengthy time blocks) went over my previous history with me, performed an exam, diagnosed a problem I was unaware of and had mis-self-diagnosed, discussed options, and suggested some behavioral changes in an attempt to alleviate the problem. He did suggest an in-office procedure (no surgery) that we're holding off on as I'm not in extreme discomfort. Anyway I found Dr. Chung very thoughtful, friendly, a good listener, and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the problem and what to try and do about it. Highly recommended.

I have visited Dr. Chung at End of October due to my severe both external and internal hemorrhoids. He is very knowledgeable and experienced rectum surgeon. I was able to get a surgery right away. The hemorrhoids procedure was so successful that I have been fully recovered in a short time. Besides, he really takes care of his patients and offers all the post-surgery checks free. I would highly recommend Dr. Chung for such surgery procedure.

Was not set up with Blue Cross when I saw him in June, his recommendation was to treat me as in network so all I had to pay was my co-pay. Paid that and got a bill for office visit and he's backtracking, saying he never agreed to that. I could have chosen any other colorectal surgeon in my network and only paid my copay but he was recommended to me by my primary. Not very honest, beware!

Dr. Chung is a very knowledgeable surgeon. He explains everything in detail to make sure you understand. He is patient and focused. Takes his time with you and makes you feel at ease about your butt problem. Good doctor. Highly recommended.
