Dr. Albana Smurlo, MD

Dr. Smurlo is the best Doctor I have ever seen. She takes the time to listen and even will call to follow-up on additional thoughts. Never have I had a Doctor do this after an appointment. She actually was still thinking about my concerns well after our appointment and wanted to express them over the phone and not by message or email. The only concern I have is she has the boundaries of the large corporate culture of Sharp Health Care.

Didn't listen to me at all. Already decided what was wrong and didn't care to listen to my symptoms. When I told her a medication she put me on was making me sick she told me to keep taking it. Didn't care. Very set in her ways. If you enjoy being made to feel bad about yourself and given no help she's the doctor for you.

The last positive review from 2019 perfectly summarizes my experience with Dr. Smurlo. I've also been with her for over 10 years...in person and via telehealth through covid and beyond. She's smart, warm, personable and I definitely trust her medical advice. The only issue now is that she's gotten so popular that she can be a little hard to get in to see, but her staff always makes it happen if it's important.

Dr. Smurlo has been my PCP for 10+ years. She is wonderful. She has the right balance of telling you how it is, but also providing empathy and compassion. Dr. Smurlo makes your health her #1 priority. Any questions I've ever had, any concern i've ever voiced, Dr. Smurlo has always made time see me and provide answers. She has been my health advocate since the first day I walked into her office. She is that doctor you wish for, that follows up with you, that remembers your previous visits and concerns and asks about them, to ensure all is still ok; she treats you like family. I would definitely recommend Dr. Smurlo. There is a reason I've been a patient of hers for over 10 years, because she's the best.

The staff is awful! Bad attitude and very unprofessional. Seek a different provider. The doctor was in and out, spoke over me and was overall very unfriendly. Save yourself from a mis-diagnosis

I've been a patient for about 10 years and I'm happy with the care I received. She is very straightforward--she'll tell you right away what is going on and will confirm with the appropriate tests as needed. She is good at balancing empathy and common sense so your feelings are acknowledged but she will tell you if you are worrying about nothing or just need to accept the status of your health. She has always made me feel heard and well taken care. She always remembers who I am which is nice.
