Dr. Saven Neglected to Treat Me
Dr. Saven would not treat me because he said I was 90 years old. As a result of not being treated. I ended up losing my hearing in one ear and my vision in one eye because of my non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which was in the brain at that time. That was three years ago and I am still living with my condition. No thanks to Dr. Saven. Fortunately I am with a much better doctor now.

Sorry I went for first available appointment
My PCP referred me to the hemotology clinic and I took the first available appointment. The referral was to interpret blood labs for iron deficiency and anemia. He sat in front of his computer and read some of the results out loud. I had a couple of questions that he answered in a short and curt manner without a clear explanation; almost dismissive in this attitude. He didn't look at me face-to-face and explain the lab results to me. Instead, he said 'You're not a woman and not having periods. So there must be internal bleeding.' Then referred me for an endoscopy. He seemed rush, not approachable, and not interested in making sure I understood the lab results or potential causes.

Dr.Saven is The Best!
Dr.Saven has been treating me for last 3 years with Hemolytic Anemia! I can’t relate to other peoples opinion about him being tough. I have found him the most loving and caring who patiently deals with all my questions, sometimes even silly ones but most importantly he knows his subject very well and I would follow his advice 100%! My husband and I could not have been happier with the care I receive from him and his team! We are very grateful to Dr.Saven!

Absolutely the right Hemotology Expert for me
Dr. Saven came highly recommended by my Primary Care Physician (PCP) and other people I know at Scripps. I went to him because blood teats and analyses that my PCP ordered showed an increase in lymphocytes. Based on the results I saw from my blood analyses and a few reports I read, I had an idea of the issue. I have Monoclonal B-cell Lymphocytosis (MBL). Dr. Saven reviewed my blood test and analysis results, asked me a few questions about my health, and did a brief examination of my lymph nodes. He told me I have Biclonal B cells of undetermined significance, immunophenotype consistent with CLL patent, insufficient B-cell to qualify as CLL, most compatible with MBUS. Dr. Saven knows his business. He is pretty abrupt, so if you want someone to hold your hand and answer a whole lot of questions, he might not be the right guy for you. But, if you wants a doctor who has no time to waste and is brilliant and knowledgeable, he is the right choice.

Rude abusive interraction. He needs to be evicted permanently from the medical profession. I would not allow this thing any where near me.

I have been a patient of Dr. Saven's since I was diagnosed with HCL in 2020. Dr. Saven is a knowledgeable, world expert on HCL and is no-nonsense. He will directly tell you about your disease, the prognosis, and a recommended treatment plan. It took me a bit to understand his black and white approach, but trust me, you want him on your side, and he will make the best treatment decision for you. He may seem "tough" but he cares deeply for his patients. He has become a trusted advisor for the last 18 + months, and I know I am in the best care to have a long remission. I highly recommend Dr. Saven and his Scripps team.
