Incredibly experience, insightful caring surgeon
Dr. Curtis was incredibly thorough, performed a very detailed history as well as examination and reviewed all of my imaging. We discussed a management plan that we both were comfortable with. Upon his suggestion, we pursued a conservative pathway with platelet rich plasma injection. I trust him and know that if it doesn’t improve, he would be the one to correct my shoulder problem.

A friend recommended Dr. Curtis to me after they had shoulder surgery with him. I had been seeing Dr. McNiel for a shoulder issue, who had previously operated on me, but I wasn’t making the progress I’d hoped for. When I asked Dr. McNiel about Dr. Curtis for a second opinion, he highly recommended him. Dr. Curtis and his staff are outstanding in every way. If you're dealing with a shoulder issue, I can confidently say Dr. Curtis is one of the nicest and most skilled surgeons in the Boston area and beyond.Jerry Sass

Dr. Curtis perfectly repaired my shoulder.
After one orthopedic doctor misdiagnosed and mistreated my shoulder, I saw Dr. Curtis. After x-rays and an MRI, he accurately diagnosed all the damage to multiple muscles. Then he performed a full rotator cuff repair. Dr. Curtiss and his staff expertly guided me throughout the process leading to the surgery, and after the surgery until my physical therapy was completed.I now have similar issues with the other shoulder and I am again seeing Dr. Curtis to help me improve my shoulder.

massive rotator cuff tear
Phenomenal surgeon and with superb patient interaction. Another doctor misdiagnosed my 'massive' rotator cuff injury, and I asked my PT therapist who would he would recommend. The was no hesitation when he immediately responded with 'Dr. Alan Curtis'. My therapist has worked on shoulders for over 25 years from numerous doctors, and he stated that he has never had a problem working on any of Dr. Curtis's patients. Dr. Curtis only preforms surgeries on shoulders, so this is his focused expertise. It's my opinion that if you don't see Dr. Curtis for your shoulder injury, then you are 'doing yourself a disservice'.
