He was mean to me. Uncaring. Wouldn't listen to me. Dismissive. Unreasonable. I was in tears. Unsympathetic.

Very Dismissive
Telehealth
I was unable to talk. Basically he gave me several drugs to research and get back with him when I was ready to take one otherwise he said he couldn’t help me. Pretty scary when I was in a place to jump the Coronado Bridge

TERRIBLE! At the beginning of the visit I informed him of the last provider I had seen and within 30 seconds he began yelling at me about them allegedly breaking the law. It was horrible and was on the verge of tears the entire visit as a result. He was incredibly condescending and spent excessive time on his on personal anecdotes and cut me off constantly when I was talking. I tried to explain to him issues that I had with certain symptoms and what I wanted to get out of my medication treatment - he wouldn't let me finish half of my sentences. It was if I was talking to a wall and my opinion on how I was feeling didn't matter. He ended the visit very rudely when I told him that I didn't want to take a certain medication that causes so much weight gain that it's literally used for frail elderly people in nursing homes to *make* them gain weight. He was absolutely horrible I would recommend that no one EVER see this psychiatrist unless they want to cry after and feel completely unheard.

For the first two years, he was a reasonable doctor but when I refused to follow all of his instructions, he became sarcastic, abusive, and insulting, saying he didn't want to keep seeing me. I asked for a referral, and he said he wouldn't inflict me on someone else, and that I should go to county health services. All in all, I think he did me more harm than good.

This "doctor" stole many years from my father by misdiagnosing him with advanced alzheimers. Shiley-Marcos Alzheimer's Disease Research Center confirmed after 4 years of testing that my dad has zero alzheimers and in fact his memory had improved slightly. For four years my dad worried everyday wondering when he was going to get the letter from the DVM stating he could not drive because he was reported by this horrible doctor!!!! I reported this to his supervisors and they did nothing to him!! Pease dont allow this man to ruin your life

I made an appointment two months out and he canceled because he only takes geriatric patients. Now I have to find someone new. I'm glad I didn't see him due to his low approval and other horror stories. Total time waster. PCSD sucks too. Back to the hunt for a new clinician.

I had severe anxiety and going to see Dr. Berkowitz was the best thing I have ever done. I always look forward to my appts. He is a psychiatrist not a therapist and even though he is there to regulate my medication, he always has a good story, a life lesson to share and I leave happier then when I arrived. I would recommend him to all my family and friends. He has changed my life for the better 100%.

short, not considerate, not personal, never even looked at me, but typed the whole time on computer and asked questions while typing, never looking over even once. I left with a prescription in my hand.

I went in to see him after suffering from depression & anxiety. He put me on a medicine that made me very ill.I was throwing up, I had body tremors, & the worst headache I have had in a while.I called and told him this & he said don't take it for one day then go back on it again. I don't know about you but I do not like throwing up. So taking a medicine that I know makes me sick isn't okay. After I told him this, he removed me as a patient. What a terrible 'doctor'.I will never return to PCSD.
