Left in the lurch
My aunt had a surgery on both her wrists and was discharged without seeing the doctor and without any paint medications. For two days we have called and left voicemails to get this handled and finally got someone over the weekend that said they can’t do anything but leave a message. This is horrible pain care! Laminectomy with Fusions L4 L5
I chose Dr. Oni-Orisan, after consultations with two different neurosurgeons. Dr. Oni was calm, listened and gave his opinion regarding my broken vertebrae, slippage and degenerate discs. I was becoming crippled from pain down my right leg, for years! He was not pushy about surgery, he gave me his statistics on good outcomes from his work. Other surgeons used a fear factor to scare me into immediate surgery. I went back a second time, four months later to hear Dr. Oni’s suggestions (as my problem was progressing) I brought my son to listen in, we both felt very confident putting my life in the hands of Dr. Oni. I am now two weeks post-op, I have full function of my right leg after many years of serious pain! Beyond grateful to this skilled surgeon, using the most advanced technology to bring me here. I had a Laminectomy with Fusions of L4 L5, major clean up with titanium rods put in for life. I have some time to go until “full” recovery. Beyond Grateful to be pain free.

Run, do not walk away from this medical practice. I made an appointment six weeks ago, which was to be preceded by an MRI. I called them five times to find out the status of the MRI authorization and was told that it was "in process". I just called again today because my appointment was for next week. I was told by his office that the MRI had been denied (not even plausible because I get one every year). I contacted my insurance company and they had not received a request for an MRI authorization. When I called Orisan's office back I was told that I was not the only patient they had. All of this is coupled with the fact that you can never get through on the phone (straight to voicemail) Incompetence combined with a lack of compassion and a lack of truth telling is not a good combination for a medical office. Extremely disappointing after having received top notch care from Dr. Park for six years. It's so unfortunate that he left the area. This practice is no comparison.

Dr. Oni-Orisan is great. It's not his fault that his specialty is over scheduled and wait times can be long. He has always been really patient with me, answered all my questions prior to surgery. I trust him with my surgery completely. However, his office staff couldn't be more unfriendly if they tried. At times it was laughable...takes calling 5+ times to get through, and once you do get through, you are quickly reminded that you are a burden for asking them any or all questions. I mean, you work at a neurosurgeon's office...your patients are having major surgeries and health crisis. Where is the compassion, patience, or even basic decency/basic information?

Dr. Oni is a skilled physician and an overall compassionate human being. During my mother's initial hospital stay following her stroke, Dr. Oni went above on beyond to provide superb medical attention while maintaining consistent communication and honest expectations with my family and me. His warm, reassuring bedside manner was appreciated during the weeks we spent under his care.

About Me

care philosophy

I believe that we must take the time needed to get to know our patients as individuals and to share with them all surgical and nonsurgical options tailored to their personal needs. This will enable my patients to understand their own medical situation and to knowledgably partake in decisions about their own care.
