Did not document my history, not detail oriented
I went to Dr. Chhatre with a detailed but concise document of my neck pain history spanning almost 5 years. He failed to keep my history information into their medical system. As a result, whenever I had a follow-on question, he would forward my email to some other doctor in the practice, and they would be clueless about my history and start with basic 101 questions. There was no proper coordination of care. Not only that, he barely spent 15 mins at most during my initial appointment with him. He barely said much. I was left guessing if he was fully tuned in to my personal medical situation. The trigger point injection procedure he did was essentially useless.I had high hopes keeping in mind this his Johns Hopkins, but it was a disappointing experience. I would not recommend this doctor.

Terrible experience
Several years ago I was referred to this physician for a very painful condition . I am a physician myself and thought long and hard before leaving this review which I am doing many years after my experience. The doctor had terrible bedside manner, was arrogant , did not examine me once despite multiple visits. This should have been a huge warning sign but I was desperate and wanted my pain resolved. He was not detail oriented did not take the time to explain what would and could happen after the procedure. The RFA was horrendously painful left me with neuropathy and worse pain than I had before. When I went back for a visit he said the resultant pain could not be due to the procedure. It has been years and I am quite sure the procedure made my pain alot worse. I subsequently had surgery that did not work. I should have written this review earlier. Take the advice of a physician that made the mistake of entrusting his care to this doctor, go elsewhere

No return calls
Spent the minimal time with me he could both before and after a hospital procedure I’d never had before. And then no return call to reschedule a subsequent procedure, including from his assistant Dr. Suri. I will never go back. Very disappointed.

He doesn't return calls. If you message through the portal you'll likely get someone else who will tell you to make an appointment, even if you only have a question.

They Don't Care
Please read all of the 1 star ratings. They are very accurate to the care you will receive. Good luck getting Dr. Chhatre to spend any time with you. I have some complicated pain issues and he did not even come into the room for my initial consult. Never spent more than 3-4 minutes at any other visit when procedures were being done. He says to e-mail him, but he forwards them to a Dr. who does not even do the pocedures and that is all the answer you get. After he did an ablation of my neck nerves, and put me in worse pain than before, none of them even came to the recovery "curtain" room to see how I was doing. After weeks of the continued pain I contacted them and the less exp. Dr. said we told you it could take 3-5 weeks. Which they didn't. Several months later am still having head pain from the procedure. They never once checked back with me. Assembly line injections is what you will be in for. How many procedures they can get in for the most $ possible seems most important to them.

I first met Dr Chhatre in 2014 he gave me my first Bilateral steroid injection in my back, I was pain free for 4 years then my pain came back 2018. I couldn’t remember the Dr’s name so I found another pain specialist not satisfied at all. Then I went into my chart and my medical information went all the way back to 2014 guess who I found? Dr Chhatre! Dr. Chhatre will give you his email address and someone always responds the same day. No long waits all ways try to get you in the same week or the next. Dr Chhatre and staff is the BEST!!

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Chhatre and his team—he has 1-2 fellows working with him. That’s a good thing. I’ve sent emails at odd times—like, 10:00 on a Friday night—expecting a response in the next business day or two, and a fellow called back in 10 minutes! No other doctor at Hopkins has demonstrated that level of patient care since I’ve been there. The procedures Dr. Chhatre performed for nerve pain were all successful and he was just as excited about the results as I was. I continued to have symptoms that were not pain related and Dr. Chhatre agreed to oversee my care for those issues. I was ultimately referred to another physiatrist for continued treatment. I would not have received appropriate care if it wasn’t for Dr. Chhatre and his team. I’m so thankful for their dedication to patient care!

Dr.Chhatre treated my chronic back pain with a procedure called "nerve ablation". It blocks pain signals from the nerve to the brain. I have been pain free for almost 1.5 years now. The non-invasive surgery was painless & had no after effects. I would recommend Dr. Chhatre without reservation!

Can not say enough about Dr. Chhatre, he is amazing! He listens, cares, and does all he can for his patients. He has diagnosed my wife after several others either had no clue or didn’t care! He takes his time, responds to questions, and has continued to eliminate her pain.

I have never had a doctor who is so accessible. If I email him early in the morning, I have a reply within 20 minutes (at the longest) with advice, referrals, recommendations for "next steps." This is followed up by staff who make appointments for me. He can be very quick in his actions and conclusions, but when questioned takes time to explain. And, his "support" staff are also wonderful, warm and caring. After years of dealing with a persistent back problem, I feel that I am VERY good hands.

Dr.Chatre, Has been very thorough, his mannerisms are above and beyond professional. He is very attentive to you as a patient and listens to all your concerns about your health issues. I have not been able to find any type of relief in my back for 9 years and he has given me some relief with his practice in internal medicine and the test he gave me to see what his best option of treatment would be for me. I have to say before I started to see him I could not sleep but maybe 2 to 3 hours a night however now I can get atleast 5 or 6 hours of sleep after his various treatments. He not only sees you as a patient but as a person as well. I recommend him to anyone who has had issues with your back and cannot find any type of relief!! Great physical medicine physician!!!
