I received a breast cancer diagnosis with my first mammogram at 42 and felt so scared and lost. I was a good candidate for breast conserving lumpectomy.. until genetic test results came back with a mutation that steered me toward double mastectomy. From the first moment meeting Dr Mackey, she was so kind and took the time to explain my condition and options clearly and patiently. She even drew diagrams and wrote notes for me to review later- so helpful when you're trying to absorb heavy information while under stress. She hugged me at the end of the appointment and said 'we are going to take such good care of you!' This brought me to tears then and as I'm typing it now. She and her team have been incredible and I wouldn't have made it through this scary time without them. My surgery went better than I could have imagined. Kindness always matters, but the impact is so magnified when you are in such a dark place. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Dr. Mackey and her staff are very professional, caring, and easy to understand. She keeps explanations simple and is very comforting and personable. The course of treatment she set out for me was right on target and I never was worried about if we were doing the correct treatment or not.

Dr Mackey takes the time to answer any and all questions. Even those things you might not know to ask. The incision from the tumor removal was in the perfect spot so you can barely see it. She cares so much that she went out of her way to find my OncoType score, explain generally what it means and then sent a text to my oncologist and shared generally what kid of chemo to expect. Saved me waiting more weeks stressed for answers
