Retro peritoneal llymph node dissection
Dr Shabsigh was very knowledgeable. Was prepared to see me. Had reviewed all my scans and was upfront about my condition. Surgery went very well. Friendly and personable. I didn’t like the post-op telehealth visit. Did save us an hour drive but just not like seeing someone face to face. My only complaint was I was on a very low fat diet post-op for 1 month. Very difficult diet but necessary! Pre-op teaching by a dietitian would have been a big help. Saw a dietitian day one while in the hospital. Probably was a 5 minute conversation about something that was very important. Hard to learn what I needed when painful etc My surgery was in 5/22 and continuing to do well!

Care is very good, but interaction is terrible. You can't call directly to Dr or staff. If you use mychart, the return time for your message is awful. If I wasn't persistent, my care would not be good.

Do your homework if you see Dr Shabsigh! He's not upfront or honest if dx'd w/prostate cancer! We KNEW to ask abt bone & CT scans,& other tests, but he won't bring it up! Whn we brought up scans, his reply: Those cost $10K! Whn pushed he set them up, when asked if thr wd b a prob w/ins - he sd No bec of PSA 23, and Gleason 7. So, what was the big deal? He met us in exam room to give dx, didn't discuss the pathology rpt at all, & pushed only radical treatment, w/o discussion of any options!
