Negligent
Saw her a total of three times. Had sore throat and hoarse. Heavy smoker for 50 plus years. She said acid reflux and gave prescription. Follow up appointment was two months later and I didn’t improve. She said maybe sinuses. Told me to try nasal spray. She did order a CT scan but showed nothing. Nasal spray didn’t work and two months later at follow up appointment she said it was acid reflux. Didn’t scope me this visit. Said it was acid reflux and continue with medication. Return in three months. Got a second opinion several weeks later and she saw lesion in larynx. Biopsy confirmed cancer of the larynx. Also had me do endoscopy because she saw something in esophagus. That was positive for Barrett’s esophagus with high grade dysplasia. She should have done the endoscopy herself during the six months I’d been seeing her. Had seven weeks of radiation and chemotherapy done concurrently. Hoping cancer doesn’t come back. Quicker diagnosis would have helped.

Dr. Hurtuk is an amazing doctor. She listens to and acknowledge the feelings of her patients. Her ENT group is amazing. Her nurse was very caring, had great listening skills and most of all very helpful. I am so glad I finally have an amazing ENT doctor with an amazing ENT nurse and the staff.

I had developed a really bad sinus infection that had turned into a painful inner ear infection. My primary care Physician recommended Dr. Hurtuk. She not only got me in to the office right away but was extremely patient when I got there. It was nice to be treated like an individual and not a number. I will be recommending Dr. Hurtuk to my friends and family and will not hesitate to return to her.
