Dr. Afrooz Ardestani, MD

I was in Fair Oaks hospital recovering post op from kidney cancer surgery when I transitioned to fibrillation and moved to the cardiac floor. Dr Ardestani was my receiving cardiac doctor. In her questioning about my situation she constantly talked over my wife and my answers, projected an arrogant know it all air, finished my explanations of my medical history incorrectly, downgraded and belittled my explanations, made infrequent eye contact, her explanations were cold displaying little or no empathy, bedside manner communication skills were never learned properly in medical school and did not explain the next steps to a non medical patient. I had no choice in selecting a cardiologist in this situation and would not recommend Dr. Ardestani unless you are in an emergency situation. We all have bad days but there was no difference between the two days that I was dependent on her in the hospital.

First visit today I found her to be intellectually astounding. Must have been first in her class many times in college. She was thorough and wont stop until getting to the answer/cure.

I have a lot of health issues and finally I found a doctor that listened and took time to look into my health history. Dr. Ardestani is a very good doctor.I have seen a huge improvement in my health thanks to her advice and guidance

Dr. Ardestani is listed online as covering clinical lipidology as a lipidologist. Her office argued with me on calling, even an office nurse that she is NOT a lipidologist and they didn't even know what that meant. Poor choice of a padded over-advertising, possibly just to get patients. Her office management should be more educated on the conditions she is medically responsible for.
