Nasty attitude
I should have read the reviews and saved myself trouble with her. Just not a caring person at all

Not good care at all
I switched doctors office and didn't have a choice in the doctor I chose. I was scheduled with Dr. Carter and the moment she came into the office I knew she didn't have a good soul. My whole visit was mental anguish and I immediately requested a different doctor. I'd rather wait another 1year for an appointment then go to here ever again

Dr.Carter just isn’t a good doctor. She do not reply to messages. When she do reply she’s no help and a bit rude. She knows I have infertility issues and she’s still asking me why I just can’t get pregnant naturally.I don’t think she reads the charts before entering the room because she would know. It really upsets me . She’s too comfortable with asking me personal questions that don’t concern her or the reason for my visits. When I go to my appointment I feel like I have to get the conversation started . I can’t keep paying money to go in just to come out feeling or thinking the same way I did before I came. I tired to wait it out to see if it gets better. It’s been over 5 years and nothing hasn’t changed. I’m dropping her.

I’ve been sitting here for 2 days wondering what I did wrong to deserve such a bad attitude and be talked down to by Dr. Carter...very unprofessional. Turns out she is just terrible. I am a nurse and have never seen (thankfully) a patient be spoken to the way Dr. Carter spoke to me as her patient. She does not listen. She interrupts. She raises her voice. She is belittling. Almost seems to exhibit narcissistic behavior. She is dismissive about patient concerns. After reading other reviews here, I am sadly not alone in my negative experience. I am absolutely changing doctors after this horrible experience. I have no idea why UAB keeps her on staff.

I tried to give Dr. Carter a chance. Unfortunately, based on her lack of helping patients understand what is going with them she just basically gets results from labs. Doesn’t discuss them until a next Appt. When you’re concerns are not answered she just goes with what she thinks it is. I’m finding me a new doctor ASAP.

Dr. Carter demonstrates incredibly poor bedside manner. She lacks empathy and professionalism. Her attitude was dismissive and defensive. She interrupted the patient's narrative repeatedly; and did not seem to care what was most worrying the patient. She refused to change her treatment plan when the patient stated that it did not align with what was most worrying the patient.

My entire family goes to Dr. Carter and I have referred her to many others. She has always followed up with my lab work, if something needed to be addressed. I always receive a copy of my lab work in the mail several days after my appointment. My father is no longer on insulin shots with the guidance of Dr. Carter's care. She is not a bubbly personality, but I have never experienced an rudeness from her or Cassandra.

I have seen several doctors in my 52 years and Dr. Carter is by far the worst. I tried to ignore her lack of bed side manners. I was very sick and actually thought I was dying recently. She told me to come in three weeks. WTH!!! I could have been dead in three weeks. She has a very uncaring attitude and I am not sure how she is a dr. She is in the wrong field. Dr. Carter had the nerve to call me in 3 RX and had not seen me. According to my new dr. What she called in wasn't going to do anything.

I have dealt with her rudeness and nonchalant attitude for over a year! She's never in the office, always referring you here and there ( Referral QUEEN - REPEATED BY MUTIPLE DOCTORS), no follow up on serious matters, short, snappy, never show any sign of concern, not compassionate at all, never respond to concerns at check ups, walks out bluntly no good bye or Nothing!!! Will never go back to her she's a joke right along with Cassandra's smart attitude !! Total waste of insurance!

Dr. Carter does not appear to be a competent doctor. If you present a problem to her, she may refer you for lab work and does not follow up other the results or get in touch with you regarding the results or make recommendations. Overall, I don't have confidence in her as a physician. I plan to find another internal medicine doctor.
