I switched from Asheville Arthritis because I wasn't being heard.. and felt like a number.. in the beginning it seemed like he cared, but when I start questioning him he turned. He wouldn't renew my handicap placard, said I didn't need it, it was for older sicker people. And made me question myself and my illness.. I cried for days after that and never took another step in that office. I switched to another Rheumatologist and within the first appointment diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia. Bottom line.. he sucks.

The care provided by Dr. Vazquez was satisfactory. He did tend to be aggressive if you didn't go right along with his plan of care, almost using scare tactics to help you see his point of view. He did provide resources to back his claims of permit disability. Then when I decided to go with the biologics due to complications with the oral medication, his office staff seem unable to get the right prescription and communicate any issues with me. After a month of being in constant pain and being given the run around I was frustrated. At that point Dr. Vazquez released me from the practice. Because that how all good doctors do when a patient is concerned for their health and trying to work with the office staff that need more education and training to do their job correctly. The biggest downfall to Dr. Vazquez is it always has to be his way regardless of patient's point of view.

I would give 5 stars for Dr. Vazquez and 3-4 stars for his staff as they always seem overwhelmed. Dr. Vazquez is straightforward while still being easy to talk to and he seems to be very knowledgable in his specialty. I have improved drastically since I switched to him from another practice. I have a friend and a family member that recommended him to me as they are also patients of his. They both love him as well.

When I first came to Dr. Vazquez, I was not able to tell where all the pain was coming from. I just knew I hurt in all of my joints. Doctor carefully listened to what is being said, was willing to explain what he found, and course of treatment he recommended. He comes to the session prepared, having reviewed lab work and chart notes before entering the room. I trust his skills and appreciate his attitude of respect toward me /his staff. (by the way, I drive 134 ml. to meet with Doctor)

Even though my arthritis turned out to Osteoarthritis rather than Rheumatoid, Dr. Vasquez has made a marked difference in my prognosis and overall health. His medical knowledge is extremely extensive, and his pleasant personality makes it very easy for a patient to talk to him. His office is warm and inviting, and the entire staff is congenial and helpful.

Dr Vazquez is an excellent doctor he takes the time to listen and cares about his patients. I have recommended several friends to him which are very well pleased. In face one friend was going to another doctor and was told a bad diagnosis and was getting very sick. She went to doctor Vasquez and got the correct diagnosis and is doing good now. He is the only one that correctly diagnosed me. My husband also goes to him and really likes him.

I give this Dr. and his practice (front desk lady) a Neg-5 on the scale of stars. I have had SLE for over 10 years and have seen a couple Rheumatoligists due to them changing what insurance they carry have been tested tooo many times to count to meet Dr. Vazquez and him state "I don't accept anyones tests or diagnosis" and "I take my own tests and make my determination". He's a very arrogant young Dr. who has, based on his statements, absolutely NO Extensive Knowlede in Rheumatology and RUDE!!!

My visit with Dr. Vazquez went extremely well. Dr. V was thorough and to the point. I have gout and his diagnosis was spot on and I feel a lot better due to the meds he prescribed. Dr. V has a great sense of humor and some funny outdoor stories which keeps the office visit on the light side. Thanks for being a super professional doc.
