I've seen Dr. Mares for nearly 30 years and I would not trust another doctor with my heart health. He is extremely competent, doesn't rush, and explains things in a way you can understand. A truly caring and skilled professional.

I have had many cardiologist in my 79 years due to an early heart problem and constantly moving around in and out of the country in military service 30 years. I trust Dr Mares 100 % to keep me doing well. I would rate Dr Mares a close second to the only cardiologist I've allowed to be inside my heart three times. Captain James Zills, Us army Retired.

I really like Dr. Mares, he made me fell welcome and at ease. He listen to what I was saying and ask questions about my problem. He did not act like he was better then I, real down to earth person which I appreciate. He makes you feel comfortable while he is talking to you and examining you. I would recommend Dr. Mares to my family, friends or to anyone who needs he services. Also, his staff is very friendly, courteous and professional.

He's a great doctor and listens to what I have to say and tells me if I am wrong and then corrects me if I have misunderstood something. He explains it to where I understand.

It was my first visit, and he was very attentive, and seem to really be interested in what I was going through, and was patient with me. I was very blessed and pleased to have been able to see this doctor. I felt comfortable with him, and he asked many questions to try to get to the issue of my concern, and I really liked that. Thank you, Dr Mares!??

This office makes everything so easy for their patients . From the friendly and helpful staff, to the wonderful Dr, it doesn't get any better. I never have to wait to be seen. Then Dr. Mares takes time to talk with me and explain things. I never feel less then "the most important person" in his day. I would highly recommend this office and Dr. Mares to anyone looking for a special cardiologist.

I came to Austin Heart & Dr. Mares after a very disappointing visit to Scott & White. I was referred to this clinic by my good friend George Harmeyer Major General [retired] U.S. Army. I was extremely impressed by the professionalism of the staff and by Dr. Mares. The indifference that Scoot & white displayed was in marked contrast with the team at Austin Heart. I feel I am in much better hands and my healthy issues will be promptly and professionally dealt with. I do not feel that I am just another number .

Dr. Mares, my amazing Cardiologist is the best there is! He and his staff are professional and caring. I get the utmost care from Dr. Mares each and every time I visit and with his Nurse Bobbie and staff I get such personalized caring if I call and when I come into the office. Dr. Mares takes the time to listen to my concerns and gives me the time needed for me to be completely informed, even if goes the extra mile to listen to anything about my life or healthcare that is on my mind. I can not say thank you enough as words will not ever express how grateful I am for the care I receive from Dr. Mares and his staff.
