Amazing physician. Excellent results.
I went to Dr. A for a facial evaluation. I wanted to subtly reverse the signs of aging. She was excellent! She was patient with my concerns; explaining each option thoroughly. On the day of the procedure, I was nervous, but her excellent bedside manner put me at ease. Most importantly, I loved my results! They were subtle enhancements that left me very pleased with my decision to get the cosmetic procedure done. I recommend her to all my friends and family members.

I recently went to Dr. Akingboye because I was concerened about my super dry skin. I told her how itchy and dry it feels and she immediately looked at my face and touched it for like just a second and then said ah it looks like you have mild rosacea. I was like okay - I wasn’t surprised but it didn’t really address my dry skin issues. For the rosacea she prescribed me Rhofade. All she said about it was that it would help with the redness. So I gave it a try for a few days but by the fourth day I was noticing severe redness on my face - way worse than any flushing I have ever experienced before. I immediately stopped using it and have been in pain for days now. My face is swollen and red and burning hot. My skin looks destroyed. I made an emergency appt to come in and see her to show her how bad my skin was and she didn’t look concerned at all! Like she prescribed a medicine that has caused her patient so much discomfort and all she said is “i’ve seen worse”....I’m done with that place!

Her M.O. is to show up 25 minutes late to your appointment then give her spiel about not being able to do a "full-workup" because insurance might only cover a half-workup, but not full. Just a ruse to short-change you and catch up with her own schedule. She also has a very poor memory of what was discussed in previous appointments, including her own suggestions!

Dr. Akingboye is by far the best dermatologist in the Washington DC area. I saw her to remove moles on my neck. She took the time to explain to me what options I had to remove them. I got them removed and it's been a few months since the procedure. I have no scarring and my neck looks so much better! I highly recommend Dr. Akingboye to anyone looking for a meticulous and thorough dermatologist in the area.

I'm very disappointed in my experience with Dr. Akingboye and the Dermatology Center. I was SO eager to see her as I heard she was very thorough. I waited weeks for my appointment and drove an hour to get there. She barely looked at the area of concern, prescribed medicine w/ minimal explanation and didn't offer analysis, other treatment options or talk through my skin care. I had to keep asking questions, receiving short answers. I felt rushed and uncomfortable. I won't return or recommend.

She is a fabulous doctor. Very relaxed and sweet. I honestly dont understand the previous reviews regarding dr A. Have seen her multiple times and has never been rude or patronizing.

I came to Dr. Akingboye when she worked in NYC seeking treatment to remove a skin growth on my nose that another dermatologist had diagnosed as the result of sun exposure. The procedure was simple--liquid nitrogen to freeze it off. Dr. Akingboye was rude and curt, rushed through the consultation, then applied the liquid nitrogen to the wrong side of my nose, scarring healthy skin. It has been two years and my skin has not healed completely. I implore everyone to seek treatment elsewhere.

Very friendly and helpful. Gave even more information than I had expected to get by identifying a hand issue that was not dermatological. Gave good advice!

1st appointment I felt like an intruder. She was not at all friendly, gave curt answers and provided little direction on the use of a prescription she prescribed. During the 2nd appointment, she was much friendlier. But she promised to be in touch concerning the next phase of treatment but never followed through despite me clarifying that she was to call me. I don't usually write negative reviews, but I make an exception when it concerns health.
