Ahktar Needs cultural sensitivity training
I went to see her for flu symptoms, she said she prescribed antibiotics and and oral solution. Only to get to pharmacy to find the only had antibiotics for me. She spent the whole visit talking bout redness in my ears looking in my ear. Then she orders a COVID test after it and took 2 hours to be seen. She talked to me rudely thru the phone along wit Katherine. Later they finally sent Liquid tamiflu in children’s dosage. I’m 44 yrs old 271 lbs. The pharmacist was concerned it wasn’t enough and is aware of the offices past blunders and bloopers with me. I called to tell her my symptoms persist and she said no refill which I wasn’t even asking for, why would I want a refill of ineffective children meds??? Over a year ago I told her she didn’t listen to anything I said in visit. Instead she ignored treated me as an undercover cop and avoided answering my about a controlled med like she was a mafioso . I noticed her other negative reviews, she never took accountability &blame patients

Great Doctor, Inefficient Staff
Makes you wait 3-4 hours to be seen for a physical. I’ve had to go there twice. When I just had to cancel another appointment, the receptionist felt the need to tell me that the appointment could’ve gone to someone else and said multiple times and was basically doubting whether I knew if there were a $50 no show fee or not. Sometimes things happen and it’s best not to make people feel worse about it. Had to schedule second appointment because someone in her staff told my insurance the wrong procedure code. I was denied by insurance and I had to spend 1 hour on the phone. Would sincerely only attend here if you were truly desperate for a new primary care physician.

No
The staff is really rude. I've been done my checkup and lipid profile. Even they got my lab results which I've checked myself just after 2 working days which showed high cholesterol and UTI but have not received a call from them and neither they prescribed any medication for UTI. After 5 days when we called them, .they said it's weekend we closed early on Friday Dr will call you on Monday till then if my UTI get worst go to ER. Now the question is if I have to go to ER why would I have to come to you????? When my lab result is just lying there in Dr's office and they are only making money from insurance. Very disappointed. I am switching to another PCP. Never recommend.

1-Zero work Ethics. 2-horrible office management. 3-they dont follow up with patients and their prescription or Labs even after 12days. 4- Face Mask notice is there as its required by the Harris county but people are there without one. 5- Dr suggest medicines by googling it. 6- you book with “dr Akhtar” but someone else will be there who does not speak English properly. 7- their excuse for not sending Lab order was , “Ohfax is broken”. Btw who uses faxes anymore (full of BS) 8- please find another physician as her office manager says that too, listen to your phone calls if you actually record??? No one cares if patients is in pain or what..... And its day 13th still havent send the clinical notes and image scan order to Lab. I lost of words!!!

Terrible! My mother was left waiting an average of two hours each time she had an appointment. Refills never called into pharmacy. Earlier this week, my mother was in intense pain. We called every extension at the office and all mailboxes were full. 7 hours later I received a call back from the office admin who I had been able to text. By then my mother was being discharged from the hospital! The doctor never called to follow up even though my mother was admitted to the hospital as her patient! Doctor is only at the office for a couple of hours 2 days a week. Always pawns patients off on assistants. I think she's tired or bored of being a doctor. If you care for your elders, be sure to look elsewhere.

I picked this doctor because she was close and the good reviews. I went on a Monday morning strictly to get a referral and to meet the doctor. Number one I NEVER met with the doctor. I did meet Juan who was nice and NP named Lisa, she was nice as well. However I NEVER saw Doctor Akhtar so no introduction as a first time patient. I told BOTH Juan and Lisa I was there strictly for a referral for an Allergy & Asthma specialist I am trying to see at SWAAA. I was told "it takes them up front a day

I signed up for A M Better Market place policy January of this year. It is new insurance in Texas. I did not know that there were no physicians in the network. But I continued to see my Doctor Dr. Akhtar. I just found out that they never got paid for the services from the new insurance company. A M Better finally promised to pay for the services. I am so thankful.

My husband just got discharged from rehab place. He is paralyzed waist down. I needed a service who will see him at home. So I called Dr. Akhtar's office. I am happy to find out they have practitioners treating older patients at home. I am so relieved. I will not have to drag my husband to doctor's office.

Dr. Akhtar has this special way of dealing with older people. Every time I bring my parents she spends at least 30 to 40 minutes examining them, where as their previous doctor would not even spend 5 minutes.
