Dr. Adam Koss, MD

We took my father to Riverside and were put in the care of Dr. Koss. Several times, we were told by Dr. Koss that he did not believe my father was having a stroke. He then scared my mother into allowing him to give my father a clot buster for a stroke. This was less than an hour in, and the window of effectiveness for the drug is several hours. While Dr. Koss mentioned a small percentage of patients will have a brain bleed, he didn't tell us the percentage was actually 25%. He also never checked for the UTI my father was actually suffering from. Because of the lack of care Dr. Koss showed, my father walked in with a UTI and was unable to walk out. He survived, thankfully. When Dad's first ICU nurse informed us of the bleed, Mom broke down, realizing she had given Koss permission. The nurse grabbed her by the shoulders and told her Koss had caused the bleed. We never saw that nurse again. Each nurse we've met since has informed us a UTI should have been the first disorder checked for.
