His 3rd opinion saved me from neck surgery
Had two surgeons in LA read my MRI and say I needed a fusion and 2 disk replacements. Was already scheduled for neck surgery and about to pay deposit to save my date.Another Dr told me to go see Dr Kantor and I am forever grateful for his honesty and knowledge. He told me since I don’t have any numbness down arms or legs; Ablation of the nerves could take away the pain.He brought in his pain management Dr.and I had an ablation of my nerves almost 5 months ago.I am still pain free. This Dr did not think I am just money in his pocket and gave me another solution. This world needs more surgeons like this. Those other surgeons in LA are highly rated and one took $750 just to get his opinion. Hopefully; I never need spine surgery. If I do; will go back to see Dr Kantor and his team.Forever grateful for his knowledge and truthfulness.

Totally disappointed
Dr. Kanter could never keep an appointment. Makes you wait for over an hour every time. I have had numbness down both arms for over a yearbut all the Dr. can do is refer me to someone else. Had an MRI, then an Electromyography, then 2 spinal injections and this last visit his PA (nice lady)said I should have another Electromyography. Last visit he made me wait for 90 minutes so I just got up and left and asked for my copay. They refundedme and I decided to never return. Never saw the doctor. I am amazed at the lack of respect Dr. Kanter has for other people’s time.

Spinal and cervical surgeries
Dr Kanter and his surgical staff and nurses in office are the most professional team I have ever seen. I ran three major companies in my work life and realize the amount of professionalism it takes to be so excellent.

Beyond any expectations
Dr Kanter, Gina Duel, and the rest of the office staff went far above and beyond my expectations when I recently had unexpected spine surgery. I felt like I really mattered and that my healing was their top priority. Gina was always available to get back to me the same day that I reached out to her. Dr Kanter and the office staff even stayed late to go over an MRI I had late one afternoon. I could go on and on and continue listing all of the things that this wonderful group of professionals did for me. I highly recommend Dr Kanter, Gina Duel, and the staff here!

Dr. Kanter performed what was considered a high-risk surgery to level L-3/4 of my lumbar spine. 2 years ago with a different surgeon a previous lumbar surgery resulted in 2 additional surgeries from complications. Dr. Kanter spent the time and clearly explained all the risks involved to me. After my own research learning of Dr. Kanter's education and experience, I felt both comfortable and privileged for him to agree to perform my surgery. After only a week from the performed spinal fusion surgery, I have complete strength and use of my right leg again and I feel as my recovery is already happening quite quickly. I can not express how grateful I am to have Dr. Kanter as my surgeon and I would highly recommend his skillfulness and abilities to others.

I had one surgery to remove arthritis from my back and it was very successful. I had follow up appointments every 3 months to check on the fusions and they were great. However, 9 months later a growth developed and I was talked into a second back surgery. This ended up with me in constant pain and neuropathy in my feet and numbness in my right leg. When I complained of this to Dr. Kanter, and suggested that it was his fault, he sent me to a pain doctor and never followed up on my fusions .

Dr Kanter performed tri-level cervical fusion on me last December. He explained the surgery thoroughly, especially as he had to go in from the back for the best results. I recovered well with minimal pain which extra strength Tylenol & Robaxin managed. A tip for prospective patients, do the PT as part of your recovery. That helped me immensely. My fusion is healing well. I would recommend him for anyone needing an expert neurosurgeon.
