Treating the symptoms, not route cause
As with any other specialty offices, the Temple GI practice is no better than others. It is understaffed and appointments are pushed 3 months out and any procedures are 6 months out. In the meantime, the patient is left to wait while having bothersome GI symptoms and losing weight and quality of life. Physicians are overwhelmed and do not focus 100% on patient's overall medical history and are prescribing quick fixes of the symptoms and more over, asking you to choose which one! While trying to reach the doctor via email because it is impossible to see them in person within the reasonable time, after a few short answers provided, they default you to make an appointment to an office visit to discuss further, so you are left suffering with your condition for months again, just to see a doctor and talk. Our medical system is failing rapidly and more people are left with no answers for months while the condition is becoming progressively worse. Their next easy answer is : go to ER.

Called for an appointment in April. The earliest appointment for a simple pre-procedure consult (usually takes 10 minutes tops) was three months later in July. Since Temple offers an online portal, the appt also showed in the app. On June 30, I noticed the appt wasn't showing in the app any longer. When I called, I was told my appointment was "bumped" since the doctor would be on vacation that day. However, the office never notified me of this. That was confirmed by the receptionist who told me there was no record that anyone reached out to me. I was told I could reschedule. The next available appt with Ehrlich would be October. Since I was bumped due to his vacation that clearly was scheduled after my appt was made, I thought I should get an earlier one since he was supposed to see me in July. However, I was told by the scheduler there was nothing she could do. I was transferred to his secretary and left a voicemail asking her to call to arrange an earlier appt. I never got that call.
