I had a hysterectomy a week ago and I can’t begin to express my gratitude to Dr. Shashoua and his team. From diagnosis to surgery everything was straight forward, honest and pragmatic. I am healing quickly and attribute that to the doctor’s expertise and experience.

Dr. Shashoua is very knowlegable and professional. He is a caring professional who takes the time to answer questions prior to the procedure.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Shashoua and Masonic Medical Center! I had a large fibroid (12cm). I had a robotic / laparoscopic myomectomy and I'm thrilled with the results. They were able to remove the entire fibroid through five small incisions, by essentially peeling the fibroid like an apple. How cool is that? Highly recommend Dr. S

CAREFUL. I had surgery with Dr. Shashoua over a year ago for endometriosis. He recommended surgery without performing a manual exam or requesting any imaging. Because this was my first time having any surgery, I had no idea that he was wrong to ignore these preliminary steps. The worst part of this, is that I was allowed to leave the hospital before being asked to urinate. I ended up in the ER two days after the surgery with 2 liters of urine in my bladder. The ER made me wait 45 minutes before giving me pain meds and were unresponsive to me until they figured out what was going on. It was an absolutely traumatic experience. The damage from this complication has caused permanent abdominal distention. I look like I am 6 months pregnant at all times. I am only 34. My formerly fit figure is gone forever. He was extremely pushy about getting me on Orilissa despite me repeatedly telling him no. Got an MRI 6 months later at NW and it showed endo. His arrogance effectively ruined my life.

After years of increasingly painful and difficult periods, and trying to manage with birth control, I was referred to talk to Dr. Shashoua and my life has improved for the better! I had a 5cm uterine fibroid, which was removed via robotic myomectomy in July. Dr. Shashoua listened to and empathized with my situation and provided me with surgical options. Throughout the process he and his team have been informative, caring and helpful. Four months later I feel like I'm "back" in my body. I'm stronger than ever and my periods and associated pain are exactly what they used to be. I've realized that uterine fibroids are incredibly common and that surgery can be an effective solution. There's no one I'd recommend more than Dr. Shashoua for this procedure!

There are not enough of stars here to give a review to such a great doctor! He did unbelievable magic during my surgery. I’m extremely happy that he is my doctor. He is kind, calming and knows what he is doing. He doesn’t guess about the problem like other doctors that I went through. Doctor is confident and knows the solution. I really think God sends us people like doctor Shashoua. Can’t express my thankful feelings enough! My husband likes him too. Right after the surgery he came out to notify him that everything went well. Doctor Shashoua kept asking if we have any questions before and after the surgery. I even sent my friend to him too and she is having surgery with him in a couple of weeks. Big thanks to The Doctor!!! P.S. his reception people are polite and patient too.

Dr. Shashoua and all of his staff are truly amazing. On 6/19/20 he performed a total hysterectomy and r. ovary removal and could not be more satisfied. He took his time to answer any and all of my questions before and after my procedure and was genuinely concerned with my health and well-being. Together at my first consult we came up with the best treatment option for me. My surgery was a complete success, I was up and walking that night. My pain was minimal and well managed, and my surgical scars are very small and cleanly healed. He is very skilled and knowledgeable in women’s health. I’m 2 weeks post-op and my life has made a drastic change for the better. No more pain and pressure. He truly gave me a better quality of life and I highly recommend him.

It is with great pleasure to write a review, something I rarely do, regarding my experience with Dr Shashoua. I was told by my original GYN that my fibroids had grown so large that the only way she would be able to get them out was to be cut from hip to hip. At that point i knew she was not the doctor to perform my surgery. After researching doctors who specializes in removing large fibroids and reading countless reviews I knew I'd found the doctor for me and Dr. Shashoua exceeded my expectations in every way. During my first visit he suggested and performed test on me the previous doctor never mentioned, such as the BRACA test and a biopsy. I'm currently 3 weeks post-op and felling amazing. My incision looks great and he was able to give me a bikini cut. I'm so very grateful I found Dr Shashoua, my new GYN.

Dr. Shashoua and his team are exceptional. My family and I are very grateful and thankful. Words cannot fully express our gratitude. I was given an emergency hysterectomy which sliterally saved my life. BEST doctor ever. Recovery pain was minimal and my surgery and healing was trouble free. I cannot thank Dr.Shashua enough for all that he has done for me. Dr.Shashua is just a brilliant surgeon with down to earth personality, very modest, very caring for his patients. I had 2 prior surgeries and my second one complicated by intra abdominal bleeding with development of multiple adhesions. Now, 2 month after my successful minimally invasive laparoscopic procedure I can say with confidence that Dr.Shashua is the best Ob/Gyn surgeon in the world! 5 Stars!! Dr Shashoua performed a vestibulectomy on me February, 2019. I am beyond grateful. I short, he has given me back a big piece of my life that I thought I would never get back and has taken away pain I have had for years. I had no idea this surgery and kind of help even existed. Upon my first visit to him, he explained clearly my condition, vulvodynia, and all the options available to me, gave me a cream to try and had me come back one month later to see if that could work, which also gave me time to think about it. He gave me pictures to look at so I understood what he would do if surgery was what I chose. When I returned, I opted for the surgery and am so glad I did. He and his asst. have been very professional, listening to my fears and lack of clarity to help me through it. I felt safe throughout the entire process on a vulnerable topic. He explained how I would feel the first week so I was aware ahead of time. No woman need suffer in silence. Thank you, Dr. Shashuoa!

I'm grateful and thankful for Dr. Abraham R. Shashoua, for successfully performing an open myomectomy on my wife. He removed NINE fibroids from my wife's uterus. • We came to him because we heard he was the best in the business, and sure enough, he didn't disappoint. • We love his bedside manners as well. I'm not certain that I could accurately explain how much he has improved my life, but I'm ever so grateful for his expertise, kindness, and dedication. I'm recovering from a hysterectomy, performed by Dr. Shashoua. I had a complicated fibroid in a terrible location, and I exhausted all other advice regarding treatment. While I was resistant to have hysterectomy, it proved to be the right thing. I feel amazing and I'm surprised by how little pain I was in. Excellent, expert care. Thank you!
