Telehealth
My first visit with Dr. Cherrick was a televisit. He prescribed morphine and other pain meds. I trusted doctors and followed his direction to the tee for a little over a year. I was then at the office for a scheduled follow up when I was told I am no longer a patient there. (?) I was totally confused. Then a PA or NP came in and told me I was discharged (unbeknownst to me) a mo. ago and accused me of misusing my meds. (?) I demanded a pill count (which didn’t happen) and a drug test. I insisted on the drug test and said I was not leaving until it was performed. They eventually complied. Very suspicious that it came back as incomplete due to lack of specimen. That was absolutely impossible unless tampered with. As a result of this abrupt discharge I went through withdrawal. It was horrible, physically, mentally and emotionally. They lied to my face and entered false info into my records flagging me as “high risk”for misuse. I do not recommend this Dr. or office.

Dr. Cherrick is THE BEST!
I have written reviews about Dr. Cherrick in the past. But, considering how much he has helped me, I wanted to write another one to make sure the word gets out. I am 76 years old and I started going to Dr. Cherrick 15 years ago, after an unsuccessful surgery on my neck and upper back left me in constant pain. Dr. Cherrick is, by far, THE best doctor I have ever had. And, what is even more important to me, he is the best person I have ever met. We have all been to doctors who treat us like numbers on an assembly line. Dr. Cherrick is definitely not like that. He takes a genuine interest in each one of his patients. He wants to know about their pain and how it effects their daily lives. And he actually listens to his patients, which is extremely rare in today's world. I could go on, but I don't want to take up too much of your time. In closing, I just want to say that, if you are new to the area, or you want to change doctors, your search is over. Dr. Cherrick is the absolute best.

Only saw him once, but he was great!
I did not find myself waiting very long, but Dr. Cherrick took the time to sit down with me and explain my MRI and what it meant. These doctors are over worked.

Always late and terrible
He was over an hour late for the first visit. Then he wanted to waste 15 more minutes talking about what I do. I told him I was in a great deal of pain. Finally decided to prescribe meds and tests after much communication. Gave me his email to communicate between visits although I could not understand the gibberish he sent back to me. I gave one star bc couldn’t give 0. My advice is choose anyone BUT him. I never felt he tried to be helpful but he know how to be obtuse and rude.

I went and seen Dr. Cherrick. I have been in pain since 2016 from and I stay in pain all the time since the accident a man hit me from behind at a standstill at 80mph and he died later at the hospital my back has been injured since then and I stay in constant pain ALL THE TIME. I literally seen him die before my eyes it was so heartbreaking and heart wrenching I will NEVER forget that day. I had a baby 7 months ago after carrying him for 9 months and picking him up now that he’s almost 19.9 pounds my back and my pain has gotten even worse so this was my honest last resort and it was a good choice. I honestly hate going to doctors, but I have to say I had a wonderful experience with DR.CHERRICK supper personable I felt so comfortable with him you can tell when someone is being genuine and this man was. I was having the WORST DAY and he made it better by just listening and understanding. Thank you Dr. Cherrick!

I saw Dr. Cherrick for 6 months after a traumatic back injury. I had 3 epidural injections and was on a low dose pain medication regimen. Due to a digestive disease and new back issues I ran out of my medication early-but informed the dr every step of the way. He decided to stop prescribing me pain medication after 6 months. Refused to explain why. Avoided any verbal communication. There is something wrong with this Dr. He is not in his right mind. Has violated his Hippocratic oath. When I told him I was in so much pain that death was preferable he didn’t even tell me to go to the ER. His emails are misspelled and make no sense half the time. When I met him he was kind and wanted to help. Please stay away from this dr he does not care about your pain. I did not violate my contract in any way. He knows the agony I’m in. I think he is on drugs or mentally ill. Please do not put your quality of life in this mans hands. You will end up with none.

Dr. Cherrick is a caring person, and really good at what he does. I've seen him for several different injuries that were harder to pinpoint, some of which other doctors I'd seen couldn't identify or diagnose. This was particularly true when I saw him about lower back pain. Initially diagnosed by another healthcare provider as Sciatica, I was sent to PT and recovered to a point. but, despite months of PT was still unable to sit for more than an hour without my back completely cramping up. Although it took several appointments to get there, he was able to identify the fact that my injury was actually spinal. With the amended diagnosis, I was finally able to actually recover and have not have any major back pain since. For those who have also seen the negative reviews here, I will note that he is very spirited, and can be a bit blunt. That said, he has always been very thorough, and, in my experience really on the money with his assessments and diagnoses.

I’ve trusted and relied on Dr. Abraham Cherrick even before I moved to Virginia. I find him brilliant, compassionate and so very kind. He realized what I was suffering from and done his best to help me cope . Dr. Cherrick is highly regarded from my other Doctors and am honored to have him by my side. It takes someone really special to understand how pain can really take away one’s life. Dr. Cherrick is just the best!

My visit was for a family member who had experienced a two month non relenting migraine. Dr. Cherrick was kind and caring and went out of his way to do what was in his power to control her pain. I had no problems with the staff either. We have been to the Alexandra office several times and have never had issues.

The staff was disorganized and had me waiting in the lobby over an hr for an appt made months in advance. They stated "my paperwork was misplaced." that was not my issue! Cherrick was inappropriate and rude to my wife and I, as if he was too busy to sit and discuss my pain issues. He was more interested in talking with her than with me THE PATIENT! He would jump around from room to room spending bits and pieces of time with each patient extending the time i could have possibly been in and out of there. I was recommend staying far away from this guy and find a better MD. Always check reviews!!

I've been under his care for many years. He is now way to busy to spend any time with you. My last visit was about 45 seconds. He was walking away and out of the door as I was trying to talk to him. He is rude. He is heartless and cares about himself only. His staff is the worst, they don't give a dam about you. They will go out of their way to belittle you. They should be working in a prison, as prison guards. There use to be some good ones but they left too. Some of the PA's were good. Some of the other Dr's are good. If I was looking for pain management I would not go here.

Dr. Abe Cherrick is a gem among physicians. I have terrible chronic pain problems from extensive nerve damage caused by an allergic reaction to an anti-biotic. Dr. Cherrick has been treating me for several years. He has returned my life to me. He's knowledgeable, compassionate, sympathetic, patient and persistent. He cares about his patients and treats them with respect. And, out of the many doctors I've had, he's also by far the best listener. Highest possible recommendation!

Amazing diagnostician. Dr. Cherrick diagnosed me with Psoriatic Arthris after I had seen 9 doctors in 18 months. He reassured me during my exam that he would figure out what was causing my debilitating pain in my feet. I felt so relieved to finally have a doctor that was committed to helping me.

Dr. Cherrick, and by association his practice, are in general mess. They will not forward required docs for me to get MRI. It has been a month and I am in terrible pain. Corrine just helped and she's the only competent employee who has made a sincere effort t help. If you must go to this practice, see Dr. Whittenburg. I have seen her for years; she's compassionate, responsive and excellent at giving treatments.

Dr. Cherrick was attentive and empathetic when I was discussing my chronic pain. My prior experience with pain specialists had ended without any relief. Dr. Cherrick was thorough in his examination and historical info gathering. He suggested I try a med I had never tried and explained its biochemical response etc which I needed to understand for my peace of mind. I purchased the med, applied the patch and FINALLY the right med had been found. I had relief. I slept through the night!!!
