We met Dr. Wernicke under dire circumstances, having been faced with a frightening diagnoses of cancer. From the day we met in consultation till the very last day of follow up after treatment, she exuded radiance, optimism, humanity, expertise and kindness. She was wiping off my tears and holding my hand - I've never met anyone as compassionate and caring in medicine to date. Dr.Wernicke was confident that I will beat the odds, and I am cancer free! My family and I could not be more grateful!
