Biography: Dr. Christopher C. Burton has been practicing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Utah Valley since 2003. While attending BYU he fell in love with the people, culture and beauty of Utah County. After obtaining his Bachelors Degree in 1995 he completed four years of dental school training at The University of Iowa. While at the University of Iowa, Dr. Burton served in the student body government, and earned awards for clinical skill, leadership and research. He finished at the top of his class and was elected by his professors to the Honor Dental Society Omicron Kappa Upsilon.Dr. Burton then completed a four year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. While there, he earned a post-doctoral masters degree in oral biology from the University of Iowa Graduate College. He served as chief resident and received multiple research, leadership and academic awards while completing his education. During his residency, Dr. Burton received extensive, advanced training and experience in dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, bone grafting, surgical reconstruction, corrective jaw surgery, general anesthesia and the treatment of facial trauma. Dr. Burton is Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association and the Utah Dental Association. He maintains hospital privileges at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and Timpanogos Hospital.Dr. Burton and his wife Cindy fulfilled their dream to return and live in Utah Valley with their four very active boys. In his free time, he enjoys playing with his kids on their small farm, riding bikes, camping, cooking, and visiting family.
