Worst Healthcare Encounter I Have Ever Experienced
NP Overton-Barnes is the most rude, condescending and contentious individual I have ever encountered in any healthcare setting. I was told I would be seeing a NP, but that my doctor would be there to address any of my concerns; NP Overton-Barnes summarily refused to listen and convey concerns. I felt considerable pressure to agree to a lobectomy from their network surgeon, even though other more reputable facilities/surgeons considered me a candidate for less radical lung-sparing surgery. Some suggested surgery might not even be necessary at all! On my second office appointment, Dr Byrd asked if I had scheduled surgery (lobectomy). I was not ready to make a decision based on one surgical encounter. There was a palpable change in demeanor and decreased cooperation from Dr Byrd and staff after they discovered I sought additional opinions from outside network doctors. Isn't that my decision? Office communication is horrible and mismanaged FMLA documentation - twice.
