Provider from the V.A. ordered EGD-Bravo Study. Arrived at the center on April 9th to discuss procedure with NP. While filling out paperwork, I alerted clerk I was NOT there for a colonoscopy. BIG DIFFERENCE. 'Well, finish that paperwork, & I'll have more for you to fill out.' Nurse called me back, said clerks had entered info incorrectly. NP was next. I asked about camera being attached to stomach. 'When it falls off, it's so tiny you can't even see it.' Procedure scheduled April 1. I told nurse who was prepping me I was having EGD with the camera. Correct. Regular EGD was done with pictures. Took several days for clinical manager to talk to me. Apologized, they did receive all the paperwork from the V.A, 17 pages, then 5 with authorizations on each set for EGD-BRAVO STUDY. Informed me they don't even have the machine to perform this procedure. THIS IS HOW MAJOR MISTAKES ARE MADE, WRONG LIMBS BEING AMPUTATED, ETC. UNACCEPTABLE
