I was referred to OHSU 7 months ago after complications following stomach surgery in my hometown, 2 hours away. I have had nothing but delays and one problem after another trying to get a response and coordinated care. After 3 months of waiting to get my case reviewed, then getting texts to call and set up an appointment, attempting to call on several occasions only to be on hold for an hour each time, then being asked to leave a message and never receiving a response, I finally contacted the OHSU patient advocate. I finally got a call back. Yet it has been more delays to get the procedures I need. There was a complication today before my procedure tomorrow, but I was reassured it would not be a problem. I waited at home for 6 hours to assure all was okay for tomorrow before I headed to Portland, driving through an intense storm. Halfway there, and I got a call telling me my procedure was cancelled, with no effort to even assure me I would be rescheduled soon.
