I had a cochlear implant just over a year ago. I have had so much trouble with it I was ready to give up. After going to another Audiologist, that actually listened to me, I am wearing my CI constantly and loving it. The New Audiologist explained to me that I was having phantom side effects, that I wasnt crazy. She reduced that battery power of my CI which helped immensely with the pain on my scalp over the CI. She turned the volume down, and it seems to have helped with my Tinnitus that was disrupting my life. After I received my CI, I was handed a large backpack full of equipment and sent on my way. It was overwhelming. Until the new Audiologist went over everything with me and explained how to use it. I was afraid to ask questions at Ohio Ear Institute because the audiologist I had, seemed annoyed, angry, and too busy. When I would try to explain my issues, her only suggestion was 'just wear it'. I tried for a year, until I finally went to OSU and my life has improved 100%.
