I wasn’t in pain before my root canal retreatment at Island Endodontics, but I was in severe pain afterward. I called Friday before they closed; Dr. Kaye wasn’t in, and Dr. Pobiner told me to ice it and wait until Monday—no mention that they were open Saturday. On Saturday, he told me to go to another provider or get the tooth extracted Sunday, without even seeing me first. I had no clear guidance, no plan, and no urgency from their team.By Sunday, I couldn’t tolerate the pain and had to get the tooth extracted at Long Island Oral Surgeons. Due to a coffee sip that morning, I couldn’t be sedated. The anesthesia didn’t take fully due to the abscess, and the extraction was extremely painful and traumatic.When I finally spoke to Dr. Kaye Tuesday, she said she hadn’t even been told I was in pain until that morning—and would’ve had me come in Saturday had she known.This was preventable. I did everything right. They failed at every step.
