I had a miserable experience and my THR ruined my life. My surgeon Dr. Michael Clarke took a gamble with my life and health, and implanted a 50mm THR cup when my native femoral bone is only 43 mm (another surgeon measured it slightly smaller than that but another surgeon verified 43 so I will report the 43 mm). My implant is too big and I have NEVER been able to sit down due to excruciating groin and hip pain since my THR. I have a spinal fusion and a dual mobility cup was warranted and promised before my surgery. But the Brand of implants Clarke uses, Lima, does not make a DM cup any smaller than 50 mm. When the implant cup is > 6 mm from the native femoral bone, a patient is 26 times more likely to impinge which means a hip does not bend. This precludes me from sitting, sitting in a car or on a toilet, or having sex. This is why you want your implant properly sized. Clarke lied to me my condition (no dysplasia just small bones), post op imaging was normal and my surgery "perfect."
