No call, no show

I had an appointment on Friday June 21 @ 3:30pm with Dr. Sigler. I know, who makes an appointment on a Friday afternoon in June? The appointment was made in February so I checked the portal to make sure it was still there. It was still in my appointments folder. So I drove the 40 minutes to Rockville Centre. Upon arriving I was told that Dr. Sigler was not there today. Apparently I was sent a letter. A letter. So 90 minutes out of my summer Friday were spent in traffic, for no reason. They have my email, my cell #, a portal, but their go-to was a letter, which I never received.
