Please save yourself the trouble and money and DO NOT use SohoMD. I signed paperwork before starting treatment stating the maximum amount I would be billed per session. I was billed 4 times the amount I agreed to and was lied to when I inquired about the discrepancy. Later, my HSA asked me to submit a detailed receipt, and the more detailed receipt Soho provided not only revealed that they charged me more than I should have been charged but also that they used the incorrect billing code. They essentially tried to lie to my insurance to make more money. I finally got it straightened out, but it took months, numerous phone calls, and working with my insurance and HSA to ensure I got my money back. Definitely not worth the trouble.

The actual providers are good but the way this place runs is exploitative. I’ve had multiple providers cancel last-minute and not once does SohoMD help me find a replacement appointment (least of all on the day they canceled with another provider). Mind you this is a MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDER. What if someone is running out of meds, or in a bad headspace? Nope just “your provider canceled, reach out to us to reschedule.” They also pre-bill you $200 and *also* bill your insurance so after your insurance pays them it’s on you to call to get your money back — which they then try to convince you to take in the form of a credit for future visits. Again they are dealing with people seeking MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT, imagine if you’re not in a good place and now have this added burden of chasing them down for your money?? I have had good experiences with the NPs themselves, but it is really not worth it.

The providers are great. The actual practice is a nightmare. If you want to be frustrated and anxious on the daily - wondering if they will respond to your messages or actually pass them onto the provider - this is the practice for you. Their policies/procedures change monthly without warning, and they have zero empathy. The administrative red tape will drive you out of your mind. Again - talking about the administrative aspect of the practice. The providers are wonderful and should seek employment elsewhere - you deserve better. As do the patients. I doubt this place will stay in business much longer.

You will be paying them to gaslight, objectify, and invalidate you. Condescending and lack true empathy. Take the exorbitant cancellation fees as a side too!
