Went in for extreme HBP 220/116. The initial exam consisted of a few questions and the provider (Cardiac PA) listened to my heart and lungs with the stethoscope over a winter coat and sweatshirt. No other physical exam was completed. (distal pulses, carotid pulse, etc) I was not given an EKG report. I also needed an echo which could not be scheduled for 2 months because the echo tech was out on the day of my appointment. To start with I waited 2 hours to be seen and was told I had no co pay. I called the office and voiced my concerns. They said call BC and ask them to reverse payment or payback, something on those lines. I called BC and explained how this provider shouldn't even be paid by them. Nothing happened of course. I paid my $48 dollar bill, drove an hour in each direction, sat in nasty waiting room for 2 hours for a five-minute chat with my provider. I canceled future appointments with ECC at OBX Hosp and went to Norfolk e and treated avoiding a possible stroke.
