'Numbing drops are too much hassle'
Dr Samuels does not use numbing drops during dilation. I was not told this. I was not told 'hey, this might hurt a bit' about literal hellfire. When I asked after, Dr Samuels' explanation for why no numbing drops was essentially 'you're not supposed to be comfortable at the doctor's office' and 'it's just easier.'Eyes are sensitive organs and I was not told anything about the machines or tests that were done during my exam unless I asked about them, but I was also not given time to ask about anything before it happened. I felt like I was being experimented on because no one would tell me what the hell was going on. Keep in mind this was my first eye exam in years, and my second ever, so I had no idea what was supposed to happen during this appointment. I told them this, and they still treated me this way. Horrible overall experience, and I would not recommend for anyone who likes explanations, has sensory issues, or has not been to an eye doctor before. I will never be coming back.
