Pepose Vision Institute

Worse eye exam for contacts and glasses I have ever had in the 55yrs of wearing glasses and 47yrs of wearing contacts. I chose Pepose for there high ratings so, I wanted the best WHILE I had INSURANCE I haven't been to optometrist in 3yrs. The 1st appt Dr. didn't even do exam, asst did preliminary test and another person did the eye measurement for the contacts ($150 out of pocket cost). Then taken to in-house optical center to order contacts. Took a mnth to receive not the 7-10 days they said. All the previous eye exams/contacts ordered that I used prior to Pepose, contacts came within 4days. Once rcvd I couldn't see at all with them. Went back for follow-up, still only asst seen me, new order placed for contacts, new ones came in... unusable. This game continued from 12/23-4/24 with approx 10x's + of driving there. My last visit to pick-up new order for the 5th time on 4/15/24 no follow-up for fit, I'm left w/unusable contacts w/$250+ out of pocket and useless scripts.

I have been very pleased with the providers (Opthalmologists and optometrists) within Pepose Vision Institute over the 20 years I have been a patient. My beef is with the optical department within their office, Precision Optix. Prices are highly inflated. I purchased a pair of single vision eyeglasses with nearly all the bells and whistles. Cost was almost $900. Later that week I purchased a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses from another eyeglass provider with the same upgrades and prescription received from Pepose for less than 1/2 the price. It would have been about 1/3 the price had I not included polarized lenses. Again, I like the medical providers within the practice but feel they are over inflating prices on eyeglassess. I recommend that patients shop around for their eyeglasses.
