My first visit, basically just a new patient visit, was wonderful. The staff were all very nice. However, I made an appointment to have my IUD removed today, and was told that I had to supply proof that I received risk counseling from my MFM before they would take it out because I'm a transplant patient. Excuse me? This is my body. I'm the one who decided to have it placed. I'm the one who gets to decide when it's removed. They do not have a right to force me to keep it in. They don't need "permission" or proof or anything else from ANYONE except ME. My body belongs to ME. I am never ever going to give anyone anything other than my own request to remove my birth control. No one but me gets to decide 1. To use BC in the first place. 2. Which type of BC to use. And 3. When to stop/remove it. I'll never get another IUD because of this experience and allow anyone that much control over my BC.
