I arrived on a Saturday afternoon with a serious gash on my calf. Was told URGENT CARE IS BY APPOINTMENT Sorry go to the ER I explained I couldn't leave my handicapped husband for 8-9 hours to go to ER The answer basically too bad see you later. Went to an urgent care and 21 stitches later I went home. No one at SwSMC had any concern that 1-I'm alone with a serious injury . 2-that I'm 78 years old or 3-Was I on blood thinners and could have issues parading around for care. WHAT A DISASTER So if you need urgent care on weekends Plan ahead and call early if the day isn't looking good
